    Stock for now
I had my leaf pack redone by a local Spring shop with an AAL this summer on my 13 DC OR that I owned since new.
The ride is so much better made me wonder why I waited so long.
$450 total cost.. the stock leafs had 70k no tsb

In all seriousness for budget lifts and all that, OME coils and bilstein 5100's are totally the way to go. As suggested a page back or so pigpen said he enjoyed his stock coil on his bilsteins at the top notch. This would probably be cheapest for the front atleast. And if you dont like it then bring the C clip down a notch. For the back just do a cheap AAL on Amazon for 55 bucks. Im running 884's on bilstein 5100's in the front, stock OR shocks in the rear with the amazon add a leaf. Cost me about 360 with new u bolts did it all in my driveway besides setting up the front at my work.

Also, C rated tires of AT or MT catagorization would make quite the difference in sidewall toughness.

Subbed as I'm interested in beefing up my suspension without more than 1" lift.
Does anyone re-arch their springs? I re-arched the springs from my F250, worked great.

Aren't those the stock TRD shocks? 5100s are an upgrade from those.

NADA, 4600 are a different shock than the factory TRD Bilsteins, they are a great shock for someone who doesn't want to lift the truck and wants a Heavy duty gas shock

Would this simply result in a stiffer ride and nothing more? (ie. The front and rear will remain at the exact same height as OEM?)

Changing shocks won't change height. Springs do that.

The 5100 is valved for high performance. The 4600 is better than stock (from what I've read), but is the stock replacement offered by Billstein. It's essentially the lowest priced model they sell.

Non TRD Prerunner 4.0L here. I added sumo springs in the rear about a year ago. Really stiffen the rear. Added slight more rake. Crappy factory setup in the front.

What shocks are you running to mellow out the bounce from the Sumos?

Ome told me all their new coils except 886 are progressive now. You used to be able to buy them with an x designator but they switched them all to progressive from what they told me

I thought my stock TRD OR was stiff.

Then I drove a 2013 SR5 and it was mushy and rolled everywhere.

    My current suspension seems perfect.

I thought my Sport was mushy on stock suspension. 5100s @1.75 was nice and firm. Noticed it alot when cornering and under hard braking. But, Pot holes suck ass with preloaded coils lol

Then did a full 3in lift. I love the way it rides now, and offroad is extremely improved vs stock.

I disscussed this coilover option with Marilin at JBA OfFROAD for no more than a 1" lift or returning it to my Prerunner stock ride height. Compare the component orientation he would build in my pic to his web listing unit that has been run and refined in @Blackout14 Ride.

There seems to be some confusion and misinformation in this thread. I would like to clear up a couple things. To start, Bilstein 4600 and 5100 are the same shock internally. The only difference is that the 5100 is meant for lifted applications.

    http://www.shockwarehouse.com/news/bilstein-5100-vs-bilstein-heavy-duty.cfm

Second, the OME 886s are a 660 lb coil (@Pigpen). You're spot on with your description of the linear vs progressive coils though. You may be thinking of the Eibach coils which are a 620 coil.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OP, as you can see, there are a few different ways that you can firm up your suspension. So far, I think @Casper66 is spot on with his suggestion. Install the 5100s set at .85 and see how you like it. If that's not stiff enough, you can bump it up to 1.75 and also add a single 1.5" AAL and Bilstein 5100 in the rear. If that's STILL not stiff enough, you can bump it up to 2.5" and leave the rear the same.

Crappy shocks that from the factory. Non bilstien. The back end had stiffen some what. Since the sumo springs aka bump stops are resting on the frame.
