I have a Macbook Air... in the last week I have been unable to get online through safari. It just comes up and says Safari is unable to find page. Or it will give me a pop up saying another computer is using my IP address and to change it... I am not a Mac person or all that into computers to try and fix this. Any help would be appreciated.

    1. If this is at your home, have you tried restarting your modem and router by unplugging the power (thin black cable) to them for a few seconds?

    2. Have you tried getting online at a different wifi location like a coffee shop? This will help determine if it's your computer or home network. Sounds like the network though...

I use a Macbook with safari and don’t have issues. Have you tried installing another browser? Are there other computers or devices on your home network.

Reset the modem first, then the router if separate. The router will remember the settings as will the Mac. Can you connect via WiFi on your phone/tablet? Or is it falling back to LTE?

disconnect your Mac from the wifi than try logging on again.Sometimes that helps just disconnecting.

I have had this issue before on my MacBook. The reason was that once you sign on to WiFi with the MacBook,it tends to store the ip address that was assigned by the router. If at some point the MacBook was turned off and the router assigned the same ip address to another device, the MacBook will have issues connecting to the internet. This should be resolved by powering down or turning WiFi off on any devices that connect to your router including the Mac. Then reboot your router. Then power the devices back up one at a time after the router is back online starting with the Mac.

Thanks for the information I didn't know it stored IP address or two devices could get the same address.

I just unplugged the modem/wifi for a few and the computer let me get right back on.

    Thanks for all the help

After turning off/on your laptop WiFi, rebooting the modem/router should be the first go-to. It will resolve most issues.
