Free flow exhaust, Injen cold air intake, Pulstar plugs, Magnacore wires.
000_0002.jpg noticed subject of aftermarket cold air intakes pops up often, bought my Toyo new in 97 installed Injen cold air intake, supplied with oil type filter, 20 years and 134000 miles later never issue with air mass sensor, you just don't over oil filter after 3 times year cleaning. however at recent tune up replaced oil type filter with new nano fiber oil less filter from Injen. cannot debate real world horsepower gain but combined with free exhaust, I agree with old school approach on a engine performance easier air enters and leaves out exhaust equals smoother running, better performance package all around.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I've always wondered why in the hell they call the "Cold Air Intakes" when you remove the factory air box (that gets it's air supply from OUTSIDE the engine compartment) and replace it with a CAI that gets air supply from INSIDE the engine compartment, you are actually getting hotter air with a "cold air intake."

But... as for all the chicken littles talking about all the destruction caused by oiled filters. I have had a K&N panel filter in my Taco's air box for around 130,000 miles with ZERO mass air sensor problems or ANY problems what-so-ever associated with the filter.

I have a Borla cai, it came with the Texas edition in 08. Works for me, clean it every 6 months. I can’t say if it does anything but I don’t mind it.

Just received the new filter yesterday. Can't thank K&N enough for what they did. On my own, those parts would have been $90.

Yes, that kind of filter is more like Hot Air Intake.

One of the reasons left this website as well as others like bobis the oil guy for years was some of the responses listed above discourage past, present and future Toyo owners of a level of pride in showing off there personal touch mods to there Taco! It's nothing new to us who been around for a while that manufactures use catch words in marketing products, case in point (cold air intakes) could not be further from truth, so whats the point in bashing Taco newbies or long time owners on there latest addition to there truck or cars or what oil they use etc. come on guys and gals if you are not providing hard undeniable data of benefits of a given product or mod then offer up praise to a toyo owner, maybe something like heh Toyoman60 that sure is a sharp looking engine bay for your 97 Toyo! sure sounds better yes! there is enough negativity in this world on a daily bases. Enjoy your ride and keep the pictures and positive comments coming!

The way I see it, there are guys that love the product they bought, guys that aren't big fans of the product they bought, and other guys hating a product that have never even tried it.
Sure if you oil it properly, you probobly won't have issues.
Another option is the Blackhawk which doesn't need to be oiled.
    Happy medium?
