I missed the exit to Left hand Collette exiting out of HITR Rd. Plus it took 1/2 a tank getting through and back out of HITR Rd, so I went back all the way to Escalate to re-fuel.
Didn't really end up needing to re-fuel there, but being unfamiliar with the route, BBSTS.

So how did you get all the way back down to paria/white house area? Smokey Mountain or cottonwood road?

We missed it too, ended up on the old one which was washed out and and deadended, were not aware of the reroute so ended up back through Escalante to Smokey.

At least we're not the only ones to miss that road. :anonymous:

Pretty much, I just looked at Google Maps again and I am surprised we couldn't see the main road from where we were turning around and looking for the route, it was only a few hundred feet to the south.

I saw it coming in enough to pique my interest to see on the altas where it spat out.
But l think I got carried away halling ass to avoid the washboards that by the time I thought the turnoff was upcoming, I'd passes it by 10 miles.

I kinda regret not taking it. Because I would of explored that whole section above Lake Powell via Croton. But the view from Kelly Grade made up for it.
