I use to have a 2010 prerunner with no problem sliding in. The predator bars on my 17 make it a tad harder, but np

Actually I grab the outside, where the handle should be inside area, with my left hand. It is a clean dismount and I am getting good at it, if I don't say so myself.

I have the SR5 also with those same steps but I also bought Weston HDX grille guard too. Grille guards aren' my favorite looking thing on trucks but the Weston HDX is by far the best looking. Anyway, my SR5 is only 2x4. I was just wondering if your SR5 4x4 came with the OffRoad Bilsteins that come on the OffRoad models? I'm pretty sure they don't but just asking. If they don't, are you planning on upgrading your shocks and if so, what were you thinking Of? Thanks!

No it didn't come with the bilstein shocks. I would like to eventually add 5100s all around and do 887 or 888 coils up front, LR UCAs, with a 3leaf AAL in the rear. From @HeadStrong Off-Road

It will probably take me until mid-end of next year, if I'm lucky and nothing else in this house needs repairs. Military disability doesn't pay very well LOL. And i just had to replace all the insulation in this house last week. $3800 bucks. Last year i had the roof redone. $6500 bucks... Can't seem to get ahead... I almost miss renting haha!!

Wow, yea it sounds like your house has been taking your Tacoma modification money. Lol. And thank you for your service brother. Sorry about being on disability. But I do think when you'e ready for your upgrade suspension mods that the 5100s and Headstrong is the way to go. I think the Bilsteins are a great shock and they aren't super expensive. I would be doing the same thing if mine were 4x4. Bilsteins set a zero with the coils for lift and the add a leafs in the back. Can' go wrong w that set up. Since mine is only 2x4 I just pick up some Bilsteins that came off a 2017 TRD Off Road with only 150 miles on them. I haven't installed them yet but I'm super excited about it. I don't know how much of a difference it will make the ride be but I heard it should be a little softer which is exactly what I'm looking for.

Get seat covers that are anything but the Toyota cloth. It's an ass friction coefficient issue.

It is an awkward truck to get in and out of to be sure. I bought inexpensive seat covers made out of neoprene diving suit material. Now I just slide in because I reduced the ass friction co-efficient. :bananadance:

And I also figured out how to do the steering wheel adjustment after thinking I didn't have it in my trim level :anonymous:

    Here's what I bought:

I am 5’8 and found it very difficult so I just cut the doors off and part of the roof and use a mini crane I leave in the bed. I’ll admit the customization was a little pricey but I feel well worth it. Also I can use it to get myself out of the truck.

Crazy this thread is even a thing. Kids are 9 and 6 and have zero problems getting in. Lifted with 285's, tacomas are still lower than a stock fullsize truck (even though every owner things they now drive a monster truck).

I have 2 cousins that both just bought 2017 Silverados... One 2wd and one 4wd. My truck is higher off the ground than both and i have no lift.

    This is my brother in law's 2013 Silverado that's lifted 3" with 285s.. I'm sitting on 265/75/16s

I have 3 fused vertebrae in my neck so it does not bend like it used to. I just get in slower so my head doesn't hit too hard. I got used to it.

Best I could get while at work. The first month i had my truck I had a rock hit the front of my truck so I had to get something to give it some protection. I looked at every grille guard on the market and thought this one looked the best. I got the HDX steps after the grille guard.

In my experience side steps make any vehicle awkward...

I'm 5'11" 175 simply just got in, same with 4runner same with lifted tundra, same with stock silverado's, wrangler lifted on 33s still easier without steps.

However the 2016 Tundra my dad has sucks to get in and out of with giant side steps and my moms wrangler also is obnoxious with side steps. That may be your problem?

Glad someone finally brought this up. This is by far the most difficult vehicle I have ever owned to get in and out of. Every person I have invited to drive my truck ends up racking their knee/thigh on the steering wheel and then feeling like there is no room to even fit underneath it. Nearly every passenger I have hits their head on the roof getting in as well. If you use a sidestep then you are far too high to step in so you have to stoop down and put your ass in first which is awkward. If you have any kind of lift and aren't 6'-3" or taller you are again in the awkward spot of trying to pull yourself into the truck.

I'm 6'-1" and 235 and I am absolutely killing the leather along the left edge of the drivers side seat with all the sliding in and out. The contour and raised portion along that edge is getting smashed as well. I have a feeling the upholstery on that drivers side seat will need to be replaced many times over the course of the life of this truck.
