I wrapped my last taco. Material was cheap ~$600. The labor is what's the killer.

I couldn't even imagine how much time and patience that took. I don't have enough of either. Haha. Some things are just worth paying for. Not to mention my truck is my daily driver and that would make it even more difficult.

I DD'd mine. And did a panel every night after work. Each day it looked like a different junkyard truck

@mesojdm, I swear man with your talent and eye for the details you could start making truck "packages " like a rousch or Shelby. Send meso your truck and about 30-40k and get a collector piece.

Check out Xpel Stealth Armor. I believe some other companies make the same thing but I used to have Xpel on my Audi and it is a thick clear bra that is self healing and best of all satins out the color of your vehicle. Little on the expensive side but well worth it. Pictures below with it.

Both of these cars are the same color. Mine was just satin wrap.

Had a buddy to help me with this. Did the hood in black, then decided to try to wrap half the headlight where the reflector is. Looks pretty sharp and the chrome inside the headlight housing actaully reflects the black and gives it a BHLM look.( but not like the real thing)
Next mods are....bed cover, bed step, pro grill, pro tails, and a larger reservoir for the blinker fluid as i keep running out...

A little late for the question, but I was wondering what brand vinyl wrap you used. I’m teaching my self how to wrap and would like a nice place to start. Thanks.

How long do these wraps last and what doe they look like after five years?

Can you just peel them off with no damage to the paint or clear coat?

Installer in the Seattle area wants $8100 for a Toyota Tacoma wrap.

It's outrageous for something that "might" last 3-5 years.

Yea that’s crazy, if you estimate material being maybe 2000, and that might be really high. Charging 6100 for labor...

Yeah. It's the NW AutoSalon and they seem to cater to the elite in Seattle that want unique looks for their sports cars. They do have a price list and the price for a Tacoma or Raport is as I stated.

I laughed my ass off when I saw that price.

I used 3m. Since it was my first time wrapping a vehicle I used a matte finish. From everyone that I talked to before starting it’s easier to learn with because the color doesn’t get distorted to much if you over stretch it.
