Working on a visor for the roof rack. It will be 2 layers. Steel on top with holes and a solid peice of aluminum under for contrast.

    Good news, bad news.

    Good, my transfer was approved.
Bad, they want me there by the 10th of January.

The wife and I had already made arrangements to be there on that day, for house shopping, not work.
I might have laughed out loud when they told me the date. I said march, they said no, I said I would think about it.

    Asshats.

Must either need the position filled pretty badly or want time with replacement for transition?

I would only get 5 days with Randy. I've spent months of time there over the last 3.5 years, don't think 5 days really makes much difference at this point.

We are thinking about going over on the 26 or 27 to do some of the stuff we needed to do over there. Doesn't exactly give me the warm, fuzzies that they aren't will to budge on the timing.

Maybe not. Their timeline doesn't work very well for us. I'm not sure how the expect me to move my family if I'm working on the other side of the state monday thru Friday. It's a 7 hour drive from the house they offered to put me up in. That doesn't leave much time to do all the things needed to move 2 kids, 4 dogs and a house full of stuff.

This is true. Even if all you did was drive and drop off then come back, you could only do 1 trip a day

The company is required to pay for my moving expenses so I would just hire a mover. It's all the other stuff that requires both of us, like buying and selling houses. We already planned on getting rid of her stupid fucking Subaru, but now I would only have a few weeks to get it gone and get her into something else.
