Bed storage box that mounts to the cleat rails

Hey guys

I've been looking for differnt bed storage boxes or shelf units that mount to the factory storage bed rails.

I found this today.. Check it out!

It's about 250 usd! And apparently you can pay a bit more for a mounting kit to mount it to the side rails!

Anyone have one of these in thier rig? Would love to see a pic of it in a DCLB or SB for that matter, and your thoughts on it!

Any other options that mount to the rails that you guys know of?

Looks interesting, I’d like to see it in a Taco bed also.

 

Definitely interested in something like this but I think the mounts are too far apart to fit into the side rail on a short bed.

 

Nest ide, but not sure if would work under the tonnoue cover. Pricy too.

I'm thinking of just TIG welding a T-nut onto a Stack-On toolbox. Toolbox is like $30. you'd need 4 though to get that kinda space, so maybe it's worth it? Definitely worth it if you need to store something longer than 16''.

Yeah I'm an HVAC technician and need somewhere to store parts. Something secure and somewhat organised too. Apparently this thing comes with some sort of dividers. But the price is pretty high.

Which stackable toolbox you thinking of?

After seeing the dimensions it is too long to open with a factory cover on the bed.

 

Nice. You may have to space it out a bit in order for the lid to open completely?

Or you could have the lid open into the bed, so you could access it from the side of the truck (provided you don't have a canopy), but then the lock maybe hard to access.

 

Yeah, some 1'' bar stock on the back should do the trick. I plan to eventually run a topper, so while I'd still lock them to deter thieves it would be less of an issue. One thing is I'm not sure how weatherproof this would be. If you need weatherproof some .50 cal ammo cans might work. With how they open, stand-off from the rail shouldn't be an issue.

 

I just ordered a LEER XL... So weather shouldn't be a problem. Countless canopy water leak threads notwithstanding.

The 50cal ammo cans are about 16" long right?

 

11'' long, just measured one.

That one with the 2 drawers looks sick. Wonder if you can mount it all yhe way at the front of the bed
