    Hello Tacoma World Members,

Has anybody lost their threads on the rear side of their splash pans?

    Take it easy,
    Paul

    Lost? Like, stripped out?

Could try heal-a-coil or just a longer bolt/nut?

On mine, they are welded-on nuts. One broke loose, so I had it welded back on.
When the other one broke loose and disappeared, I was able to replace it with a
clip-on-nut thingee (forgot what it was called) that I got from Home Depot.

Kinda like this? Ace hardware also carries them.

Yep, thats it. Need to find some with matching metric threads, though.

Or buy a matching standard bolt?

    Or weld a nut on.

    Hey Everybody,

Thank you for all of your wonderful and thoughtful responses. This is what I did. As we all know, the front side of the front splash pan screws into good metal. Those three bolts were not the problem. On the back side of the front splash pan are two bolts, and one of them was stripped. I bought a two stainless steel bolts at ACE Hardware, and welded them in place of the two back bolts on the back splash pan.

    Take it easy,
    Paul

I rounded off the head of a splash pan bolt, a pain to get out after that, so I replaced all of them with a heavier grade bolt.
