So my not-quite-a-month-old 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 has auto-locking door locks, even though it's a manual transmission. The doors lock at 14mph. I don't mind the feature for myself, but what's somewhat annoying is that if I open the driver's door and get out while the truck is running, the other doors stay locked. Which means I have to remember to unlock them before getting out if I want to put something in the cab from another door. It would be nice if they would unlock when the driver's door is opened (period), not only when the driver's door is opened after the truck is turned off.
But what I find odd is that the owner's manual says that auto-locking door locks are not available on a manual transmission Tacoma. Are others with 2017's with manual trannies seeing the same thing?

Yes and it sucks. Can't stand when I walk around the truck to open a passenger door and it's locked. I wish there was a way to turn auto-lock off.

What also Sucks is if you have the locking Tail gate. That has bit me few times!

Have you checked through the customization menus to see if there are other options? I don’t know for sure if there are, but it seems like that would be an easy thing to let the driver decide.

You can turn that off with either the Carista app or the customization menu. I did it, but can't remember which one it was.

Mine has auto lock also, I believe you can turn that off of you have an Entune system in your truck. Check the apps.

Auto here so YMMV. But you can set options in the configuration menu to lock on speed, lock on putting in drive or turn off entirely. Also option to unlock all doors or just Driver with key fob and door sensor.

So I can. Silly me to believe the owner's manual that says the "speed detecting automatic door lock function" is on vehicles with an automatic transmission only. :)

6MT here, and mine does the same thing. Annoys the hell out of me. I just get in the habit of always unlocking the doors when I get out. AT people have their doors lock and unlock with park. Makes much more sense, we don't have an analogous function.

I have access to a Techstream at a dealer, you can turn the auto locking with speed off. Definitely a configurable option. I chose to leave mine on though, for safety, it's worth the annoyance.

The closest you can get is there is an option you can turn on that, if: all the doors are locked, you turn the ignition off, and open the driver's door within 10 seconds it will open all of the doors.
