[IMG] Finished my restriction free stock style intake tube. I wanted to retain the stock filter because I'm not a huge believer in aftermarket intakes but the stock inlet pipe was a problem for me. The accordion style pipe adds turbulence and restriction to the air as it passes through the filter and maf. While this is not documented on our trucks very well the Subaru community has done testing as a popular mod is to upgrade the factory accordion style turbo inlet to a unit with smooth bends. Power increase is hardly enough to even measure but the smoothing out of the flow of air is what we're after here. AEM offers a kit but the price is absurd, I made mine for $40 from parts from various places around the good ol' interwebs! Happy with the fit I will now send it off for coating!

Yeah I will see if I can find a link for you...
It was a breather can setup but I tig welded a aluminum patch over where the filter would have sat. Other than that I just got some -10an to barb fittings for the hose and thats about it. -8an fittings would have been perfect for the 5/8 line but you just need to buy a simple brass reducer for the -10an fittings to work. (see pic)

Being from eBay the quality was top notch! They could be charging way more for them! Thanks for the compliment though, I'm super OCD about keeping things simple and as clean as possible!

thats a quality part there, the welds actually look decent, and it dosent have that cheap chinese chrome plating that so many of them have. also, just the hoses alone that you made up is what really sells it as a factory looking part.

I did this exact same thing yesterday but with Bilsteins. Found a thread on here with the UCA method you did and ended up going with the LCA as well. Mush easier imo. I was able to get the front and rear AAL done yesterday, took awhile! Good luck, hope all goes well.

Bought a cap off of buyobuyo (thanks again for the help with the wiring) and am piecing together a Thule rack for the cap. Got everything in the Thule pic for $200. Anyone have TH460 feet and/orTHKIT3101 fit kit lying around they want to sell?

LOL None of this has to make sense each truck is as individual as the owners. As long as you like it who cares thats the only thing that matters. Chrome on dark colors is actually attractive to me

Yeah LCA method was way easier. And my alignment markings didn’t even barely shift so that was no big deal.

Driver side took me a millennia but I was a pro for the passenger side, did it in half the time easy.

AAL looks relatively easier than the front too. Knock on wood.

    I agree.

And I too thought the same on the AAL, but it was actually a bit more difficult than I expected. Make sure you Jack the truck up high, have jack stands, undo the brake/e brake fittings, a rubber mallet, and have a good c-clamp.

The job is loads easier if you remove the leaf pack from the truck entirely. I've done 5 AALs now, both progressive and single.

I used LCA method. My taco lean wasn’t correct even using 1/4 spacer. Here my numbers after alignment.
