I have a DB3 and Viper 5706V i installed in my 2017 Tacoma Sport push-to-start. Now that I'm finished my Viper alarm functions are working but truck won't start and I also get warning lights on my dash for check charging system and brake light. My DB3 module is also not lighting up green. I assume the DB3 is somehow interrupting the starting engine process and somewhere the DB3 wiring is wrong. Does anyone here know what the issue might be?

Edit: Forgot to mention truck won't start.

I bought an Xloader2 from Amazon (supposed to arrive Saturday) because I'm not sure if my DB3 was programmed or programmed correctly. The person I purchased it from said they would program it to remote start with my Tacoma but I have no way of actually knowing if they did it. I've double checked the wires and they all appear to be hooked up correctly yet the DB3 programming light stays red and my truck won't start and says check charging system and check brake.

@gpb My viper alarm functions properly and all connections are fine, which leads me to believe it is something with the DB3. Especially since my vehicle will not start, I am thinking the DB3 is somehow interrupting the engine starting process. I'm hoping once I get the Xloader2 module tomorrow and reprogram the DB3 that will fix the issue. Otherwise going to have to go through all the wires yet again.

Thanks, that's exactly what the sound is. No issue for me just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone or did something incorrectly during the install -

We tried yesterday but removed all the connectors from the DB3 and my truck still wouldn't start.

Well, I literally took everything all out wire-by-wire, to include the alarm and DB3, and my truck still won't start. I'm still getting the "check brake system" error. No clue what is going on.

Yeah, a friend and I went through all the Toyota harnesses that we tapped into. This install has become painstakingly long and has stopped me from completing all the other things I've wanted to do (suspension, audio upgrades, etc.).

This is what I've found for troubleshooting the "check brake system" error:

Well, my friend and I can't figure out why it won't start and why the "check brake system" error is on. So I'm going to have to call Toyota and get it into a dealership. After 2 weeks, we're both done trying. We even talked to a friend who is a Toyota tech and went through all the troubleshooting we did and he didn't understand why it wouldn't start considering everything we attempted. So maybe the dealership will figure it out with their tech stream equipment. I just hope they fix it under warranty.

I finished my install today thanks to 12volt solutions and all the good advice available on this excellent thread.
Has anyone used their watch to remote start yet and how did you do it?
I have a Samsung gear s2 and Samsung 7 phone.

Looks like they finally caught on so if you're on the fence, you better pull the trigger while you can.

I just ordered and received a db3 and a programmer. I can’t program it! Does anyone have a login they are willing to share so I can get this thing programmed? I hate to have to send it back. I understand if no one wants to but I just thought I’d give it a shot before I send it back.

Subbed. I'm bummed at the recent update as winter is coming upon us and I was looking for an inexpensive way to get remote start on my Taco. My local dealership wants to charge me $479 for a compustar remote start kit.....crazy

Great thread, sad to see the negativity, there are those who want a simple plug and play while others can do it with some background into installing alarms.

To make the connection from the alarm to the truck/car I used posi-taps and have always had great success. There are wires that do need to be cut like the starter wire but thats not a problem as long as I reverse the connections and re-solder the wires.

I hope you guys also did a good job at hiding the brain as well add a battery backup system.

So, Fortuna should work? These hot southern summers have gotten me reconsidering this.
