Consumer Reports actually discouraged getting larger domestic vehicles with manual transmissions because they all had the parking brake on the floor and it was poorly spaced from the clutch pedal...

First, I'd like to thank @windsor for the fog lights!

    image.jpg

More than likely I'm going have this done by either my dad's mechanic or the body shop that fixed my truck after I was hit by a drunk driver.

However, I would like to see if I can do it myself or with help a friend who knows what they're doing...

    @Plain Jane Taco

How hard was it to put the fog lights in your '13 RC?

I put fogs in my '09 and '13. Hell...just about every vehicle I've owned, I put fogs in. How much do you know about electrical work?

Installing stereos in my truck, wiring speakers for both automotive and residential applications, installing ceiling fans in houses, wiring a thermostat, wiring a light switch, installing a run capacitor in a central air-conditioner...

    Nothing major though...

It looks like my friend, an ASE certified mechanic, is going to help me hook everything up, but it would still be nice to see if I can do this on my own.

First thing you'll need to do is to source a couple of H10 connector pigtails. That's what going to connect to the bulbs.

You might be able to find them at AutoZone, Advanced, Napa, etc.

Without these....you're dead in the water.

I didnt use any fancy plugs when i did mine. You will need a switch (link below) and do not forget the relay (auto zone). I nearly burned my truck down because i didnt use a relay. Its really pretty simple. My knowledge of wiring seems to be about he same as what you mentioned.

And I'm gonna be having my friend Dave, a truck driver and former ASE certified mechanic, helping me!

    Thanks for the link!

I have a base 5-lug RC, so I have all these blank spaces. Did you use any of these for the switch?

    Those aren't anything fancy. They're a necessity.

That switch almost looks like it's for the smaller blanks under the HVAC controls

You can get switches for either one

When I press this button, no lights come on, and it doesn't seem to have any affect on handling in the snow...

    image.jpg

NOTE: I am referring to the RSCA button.

Yes it's just a blank. that's where the RR Diff lock would go on a TRD Off Road.

I was talking about the RSCA button. My truck has the Auto-LSD, or as I like to call it, a "fake posi."

I believe you have to press it and hold it in to turn it off.
