MWall did you decide on your lift yet? I just purchased a 2011 TRD OR that came with 16" wheels. I have been thinking about the RCD myself so I called RCD ask about fitting with the 16" wheels. RCD said that as long as the wheels fit stock and have no more than 4.5" BS they will work with the lift.

I agree. Most 3" kits ride like hell, especially the spacer ones. I've had OME, Toytec Ultimate, Revtek, etc.. The OME has the best ride for a non DB (drop bracket) kit but they all force the upper and lower control arms creating a stiff ride and wearing down components. I had to replace both front wheel bearings before reaching 50k miles because of the CV angles on the 3" kits. Even after switching to the Fabtech 6" Dirtlogic kit, I think the RCD is the way to go and will be installing on my 2012 DCLB 4x4

I guess my question as a new 2005 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 owner, is... Which lift option, will be most reliable, and last the longest without worrying about maintenance or repairs of other parts for the truck? It is currently riding stock and at 80k miles.

I know cost is a big factor when shopping, but I want what is most reliable if I have to pay more up front. I'll just have to wait longer before purchasing it...

Thanks for any help! Been dreaming of owning a Tacoma and want it to last.

I have 50% tread on the Coopers that it came with, and plan to go bigger when I get the lift. I think 33s

Sorry to bring up an old thread. But I have read this entire thread and need a little clearification. I am looking at a stock 06 DCSB TRD off-road. I am going to be doing a good amount of off-roading and 2018 heading out to Moab for rock therapy from the east coast with my buddy fatfurious and I'm trying to figure out what is the best kit..... Toytec boss kit with UCA's or the RCD 4.5" DB kit. I will be doing all the install myself. Thanks in advance

Hey guys I have a question for anybody who may know the answer. So I have the RCD 4inch lift kit, as well as a 2.5 inch spacer. I am wanting to upgrade to 6inch coilovers. Would anybody recommend purchasing the 6 inch coilovers, or will that not be compatible with my lift I have. Or would you recommend purchasing a brand new lift kit with coilovers, for example, BDS has a 6inch coilover suspension kit

Yes you can use a coilover designed for the 6" lift on your truck.

Even if the lift is designed only for a 4 inch lift, I can get a 6inch coilover?

What you need to remember is that on the 4" and 6" kits the drop brackets are the same.

I was unaware of that, thank you for the help! I guess I’ll probably need to purchase some aftermarket UCAs as well, since mine are a little stressed
