I know someone on here painted the lower portion and left the letters the paint color. Not sure who though. I know I liked it. Too much work for me and above my skill level. Why I went with the raised poly letters. They all look the same from a distance but up close I think they look better than vinyl. Just opinion though. To each their own. I always say, if you want to pay for my mods we can do whatever you want.

    Here's mine up close:

You should search YouTube for plastidip badge videos. You'll be amazed how easy it is. I was dumbfounded. A monkey could do it it's so easy.

Oh yea, while removing my Toyota emblem from the grill, I broke the plastic clips so I would search for a video on that too.

If someone says a monkey could do it it's so easy then I'm dumber than a monkey.

But I bet a Chimpanzee could handle that without an issue..!!!

After-all, Chimps share 96% of your DNA..!! The 4% they do not have has to do with Beer, Strippers, Gambling, and same sex coupling...!!... You know.... the things "humans" do and think it's "normal" ..!

That's one of the coolest looking bars/pub I've ever seen. No name out front?

Uh. Sorry to inform you... but yes, we lost our home in July to Detwiler Fire.

The fire is not our reason for moving. Though it is good timing. Leaving Yosemite for Zion NP on Thursday.

Haha! I wish that was the bar front! I’m inside the bar, looking at my truck across the street.

I still have not decided yet, but I am leaning toward getting the Pro grill. I just really like the way the "Toyota" looks on the front. Although I wish I could get it from the factory with Inferno letters. But, on the other hand, dipping the stock grill black, with the Inferno badge also looks awesome.

I should have been more specific with my post though. I was asking about how to dip the door and tailgate badges. But any and all advice is surely welcomed :D

Thanks! I love the way those black badges look. I wish Toyota would have had black badges as a factory option with the Inferno. I guess that's just nitpicky though.

One question. When you remove the badges from the door, you clean the back of the badge itself, AND also the clean the painted surface of the door where the badge was? Just wondering cuz I don't want to damage the door paint unnecessarily

I considered this, but my concern is all the paint that would get in the little spaces in between the letters on the orange paint of the door. I don't think I have the patience or small enough fingers to try and put tape between the letters either lol.

Sorry to hear about your house! Also, good luck in Zion! I've been to some areas down there in some of the National parks in southernUtah. Not sure if it was Zion or not because I was pretty young, but it is pretty awesome down there!

Lol thanks! Yeah I was just messin around. I have actually been a member on TW for around 3 yrs I think. Wasn't that active until I bought my new one last August though.

Yeah if I end up trying to get my tailgate painted, i may want to see if I can find a professional to do it. I'm certainly not an expert painter and the prep work for that seems like it would kinda suck.

Will definitely be looking up YouTube videos on all this stuff. Hopefully I'm smarter than a monkey lol :fingerscrossed:

Just tweezers. Look as some videos. I think you might find it far easier this way than to remove and reapply the badges.

If wanting paint, remove the badges first. If doing plastidip, you can leave the badges on. Watch some videos. They'll relieve done doubts.

If painting, remove badges and remove adhesive from both badge and vehicle. I used a plastic scraper to get some of the adhesive foam off, but was super careful and then used goo gone. Clean with car wash soap after so no residue.

I think the paint method is more permanent and is more durable. I ended up painting the badges and then plastidipping the grille. If the grill gets damaged, i might be painting it also. Plastdipping is easy to do, and easy to repair also, however. To each his own.
