Some do, most don't where I'm from. You gotta watch your gear if you leave it on the bank. I don't fish the common spots anymore i hike into the places where no one goes. i also carry the least amount of gear possible for the day

Had that happen with a Brodin net a few years ago. I know they had it but nothing I could prove. They practically ran across the river after I asked them.

    My cap is now $100.

Have Orvis, GLomis and some other expensive rods collecting dust. I'm done with expensive rods unless I find a deal used.

I want to go fishing, not worry about banging my $300 rod against a tree or similar.

I'll never be such a good fly fisherman that I will be able to tell the difference between expensive and cheap rods.

I just want to go fishing.

I used to watch that, but it seems over produced lately.

I’ve never held or fished one of those rods, but you can get good rods for a lot less.

I really like the Cabela fly rods. Can be found on sale often for less than $100.

When they clearance them in the fall you can get them for $50.

The same shit everyone else has.
Im a cheap ass too. I fish small water so I use my 7'6" 3w most of the time. Its a Cabelas Three Forks. I also like to fish 'glass rods too.

Cabela's CGR rods are my go to 'glass rods. I also own 2 Eagleclaw Featherlights that I like to fish too.

I own a nice Orvis rod and rarely use it. It gets used in the summer for bass in the local lakes but thats about it.

I beat the shit outta my gear so I tend to spend less on it so it doent hurt so much when I smash the rod/reel off a rock.

Best advice is if you can, cast what you plan on buying to see if YOU like it.

I've never spent more than $200. Many probably cost much more than that at one time, but I always buy closeouts, older models, etc. You can't get hung up (as the Sporting Goods industry wants us to) on always buying the latest & greatest. My favorite rod is still my 20+ yr old original Cabela's Traditional 9' 5Wt. It's a slow rod (by today's standards as everything seems to be medium & fast). It's still the standard by which I judge a rod as fast/slow.
