I was looking through my build thread today to find a picture and I ran across a post from a year ago when I had been admitted into the hospital as doctors were trying to figure out the source of some internal bleeding (while my wife was 9 months pregnant and shoveling snow off our sidewalks).

The bleeding was due to cancer treatments I've had over the past several years. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. I had surgeries in December 2011, January 2012, October 2014 (two times in October, including HIPEC chemo where they basically marinate your abdomen with heated chemo), May 2015, and March 2016. It has been a battle for a long time and a several points along the way it seemed like I was just treading water and not getting anywhere.

I still have the occasional bad day but looking back at where I've been and realizing that I have way more good days than bad days now is refreshing. Hopefully any others here that are that are in the thick of health issues and feeling like they aren't seeing any progress can measure things in months or even years because the improvements when looked at in days or weeks are often so minute they feel meaningless.

Hang in there and keep focused on positive things in life.

You've been through a lot. Time will be kind to you as you have more and more of the good days.
