I'm done for the year, but a couple of friends are going out on Wednesday of this week. Single digits and below 0. I hope it is a quick hunt for them. Those can be dangerous temps. I'm glad there are two of them going together. Indiana has a special anterless only gun season in many counties to lower the population.

Just got into archery at the end of last year. Picked up a used BowTech Carbon Icon with some arrows off eBay. Just discovered the local park has a free archery range (finally California taxes used for something useful). Not sure if I'll get into hunting anytime soon, but I've really been enjoying shooting every couple days.

Currently setup for a 50lbs draw, will probably inch up to 60-65 as I get more consistent and build some endurance.

The bow the day it showed up:

First grouping at 30m (needs some work):

not bad for your first 30m group. Archery is great if I had a local range i would shoot all the time.

I haven't been able to shoot for quite a while, in fact about 2 years with 2 shoulder surgeries in the span of about a year. I was seriously affraid I wasn't going to be able to do ti again and have been avoiding going anywhere around my bows down stairs. The Doc released me to go back to work doing what tore it up in the first place so today I figured if it's good enough to work it's good enough to play. So I broke a couple out. I started with the Elite Victory my indoor bow and dropped the weight to 40 and left all the stabalizers off and it felt pretty good I even managed a decent group at 20 yards

Then I got a little more brave and pulled out the hunting bow Matthews Wake at 60lbs I only shot it a couple of times but at least I could do it

Form sucks right now and shaking like a dog shitting razor blades but I shot

Yes Sir it hurt but felt good all at the same time. Now the trick is will the shoulder hold up. I'm hoping to maybe find a different job while it's still good

I ended up having to convert to shoot left handed because my shoulder just couldn’t handle the draw back and lock

Mathews has a good letoff cam so its not that bad. Mine is a 60lb as well, I think if I had any other bow my shoulder would be toast. Just take it easy and build your muscles back up slowly. You dont want to over do it. Good grouping though!
