Please share how you light your bed.

Looking for something to use in conjunction w/ Softopper canopy (i.e. not mounted to bed cap ceiling) so most likely LED strips. I've seen a kit on Amazon that use a bluetooth app to control/change colors which would be neat, but I'd like to have input from members with experience.

link to Amazon LED light strip-

Problem with that kit is that it is powered from a wall outlet..

I used a kit similar to that. You cut the wall socket adapter off and wire black to ground and red to an inline fuse to the battery. Also used 3m tape instead of what came with it.

or if thats too confusing, buy it from the vendor with easy instructions.

If you have the carpet material on the interior of your canopy you can use the "hooks" side of velcro to attach the strip lights to. The velcro from mine is still holding strong, but the dog ripped the strips out when he was bored. The velcro held strong to the canopy despite him doing so. I agree with @Hextall get the waterproofed ones and it'll work well. If you decide to canopy and bed lights make sure to wire in a connector so you can take off your canopy and not have to cut the lights (learn from my mistake).

I used a similar kit from Amazon that is powered via USB. First one didn't connect correctly (on strip had different colors than the other) and the second version died in cold weather (flickered, then stuck on purple).

I'm searching for a better option as well...ideally powered via USB since I have a power source in my bed containing a USB outlet.
