Has anyone been able to or know how to make the air on board switch to match the "intensity" of the factory switches? Below is the bed light switch I'd like to match to factory switches. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking light intensity? I would swap Toyota bulbs into the aftermarket switches if you want them dimmer. The Toyota switches use incandescent bulbs with colored covers, which is why they are so dim.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to match. I was able to dim it a little bit by putting some paper behind the switch. It's still a different color though. I thought about swapping bulbs but the air on board switch has a bulb soldered onto the board and the Tacoma is twist style.

I finally did it for anyone who's still here. I took out the resistor that takes the LED supply from 12v to 2v, soldered a few pieces of wire between the contacts, then soldered in a factory bulb. Voila!

    Bed lights off

The only one that isn't lit up is the bed plug switch. If anyone has a factory solution to this I would love to hear it!

Also I know the pictures don't look like it but the mirror control switch actually matches pretty well. Here's a better picture of what it actually looks like in person.

Wait your power mirror switch lights up?

I am about 99.9% sure my 14 doesn't and never has. Anyway cool mod.

You're correct it doesn't. Neither did my 2015. Here's the info for it. Super easy!

Tape the switch up so only the back is uncovered. Use spray paint that is the color you want. Either lightly spray it and let it dry before testing for color, or spray into the cap and use a qtip to dab the color on.

Hmm  Super interested in doing this to my switches. Any chance you could do a write up for us? Resistor removal, factory bulb info for purchase etc.
    :fingerscrossed:

I'll see what I can do. I already have it back together but can use an old air on board switch to show what I did.

No worries. Any info like clarification on the resistor location and bulb type is helpful to non electrical savvy people like myself. I’m fine soldering away once I know what I’m doing.

The bulbs are the easy part actually. I just got them from a Tacoma in a junkyard. You just need to make sure it's a green one. You can also order them here. I'll explain what to do with the bulb in the video.

    @jaddels,

Sorry for the crappy video but it's the best I could do with no one to hold the phone. It gets the point across though. Let me know if you have any questions.

Awesome. Great work @nazlax10. Really appreciate you taking the time. I’ll get some bulbs and give this a try.

Finally got around to doing this to my switches this afternoon. Worked like a charm. Thanks again @nazlax10

Ended up leaving the top led untouched as well (mine were white). No pics of the install as you covered that well in the OP

So much better now that they match!

Pics when on to see the LED for reference.
