Decided to bite on these TOFTT and give these another go. Installed easy, but then my truck wouldn't start at all. Showed a brake error, charging error, and then brake override manfunction (advised visit dealership). Ended up being a blown tail light fuse and a blown brake fuse in the engine compartment.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

I read somewhere that those fuses blow when the connections are reversed during installation.

There's a link in post #308 above to another thread with videos. Maybe check that out?

Good call on that:yay:. I gave it another shot this morning and now they work fine with no radio noise.

Very Nice!! Looks great. I'm thinking about going with the clear look as well instead of the smoked. I cant make up my mind.

Actually, they ran some tests and found out that the radio interference issues could be resolved by adding ferrite coils inline. There is a separate video showing how you take the inside appart to add them. They are sending people with older versions of the light the ferrite colis free and are just installing them in all new lights.

Seems pretty stand up to me to do the R&D, figure it out, and come up with a fix. For free is how it should be of course. In another video I watched they show a guy inside the cab going through all the various functions of the lights, turn, break, flash, etc. and with the radio on, and changing channels on the radio.

I'd say they got it figured out for sure.

I am torn too. The clear look so nice but the blacked out look is bad ass. I know @mesojdm said if he ever got the chance he would do his conversion mod and frankenstein a set of Off Roads and Pros to combine one assembly. Then it would be blacked out but with a clear lens inside and out. Freakin' @mesojdm for the win! That guy is a mad scientist with a wicked sick imagination and skills! Of course you can't get something like that at the Winjet price. But hell, for something that is a one of a kind, it's worth it.

Also, and I am not sure if I missed something or misread something, or watched the video the wrong way showing the install of the Winjet lights but it looked to me like those tails retain the original incandescent bulb fro the reverse light?! I know you can replace them with a cheap LED plug in but for as much as those cost I think they should come with them. Just sayin'. I am pretty sure @mesojdm uses LEDs for the reverse that are super freaking bright. So his setup is 100% LED Plug-N-Play. And a lot brighter in every regard. They are just damn near impossible to get ahold of..........

I saw the video where a guy was turning his lights on and off and using the blinkers and the radio would produce static. I think they have gotten this all pretty well worked out by now. I think they should be sending the light ready to go through and pull all the old designs and fix them themselves. They are advertised as plug and play. I shouldn't need to take them apart to add anything even if they are sending the parts for free.

I agree with you on the smoked version, they just look badass! I've seen some pretty sick custom retrofitted lights, but they are about $2k or more. You are correct on the reverse lights they do keep the factory connection and bulb. Like you said though, you can get an LED bulb for next to nothing. I honestly prefer this. I already bought LED reverse bulbs for mine and love them and would want to keep them. Here are the ones I bought for my 17 Taco and my wife's Rav4 and man are they awesome and SUPER bright. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074RFY776/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Well, this is odd as hell. The video I saw yesterday is not on the Winjet YouTube page now. It was just a guy that gets into the truck and goes through all the different light functions while the radio is on and there was no static at all.

Yea, I think for me, since I working my way towards a total chrome removal, the black would be best. Especially on the Inferno.

I checked those reverse LEDs out. Much nicer than the ones I had in my Tundra and 4Runner, which were the same ones I bought for my Lexus which I might now change to these. All of those didn't have the rear facing diode like this does. I like this better.

    Thanks!

Man, i am telling you, you won't be disappointed. They are VERY bright and for the price, it cant be beaten in my opinion. I normally use superbightled for all my led bulbs. I did use them for all my interior lights and the tag lights.

And yeah chrome delete for your inferno will look sick!! You should get those turn signal lights by @mesojdm. I want a set for sure on mine.

    Hey Rob,

Our lights do used the factory incandescent bulb for the reverse light. Unfortunately, if a customer would like to use a LED for their reverse bulb, they would have to purchase that separately. I did come across a customer that was able to retrofit a 2x2 rigid pod in place of the reverse bulb. That thing was really nice

We were able to find a solution to the frequency issues people were having. I personally like the smoked lens on darker colored cars, but the clear lens do also look great.

I saw the video that was posted on the instructions for installation and @RobP62 mentioned that adding ferrite coils inline solved the radio frequency issues. Did you want to add something to that?

The ferrite coils are something that we would be sending out to customers that already have the lights and are having the issues. From this point forward, the lights will be shipping with them installed.

Also, the mods just let me know that thread that I created has been unlocked. and can be found here

Excellent!!! That's what I, and I'm sure @RobP62, where hoping for. To just have the light shipped and received ready to install without any modifications. I appreciate the info. Do you have a link to the different areas these can be purchased with the new fixed version? Is Here a good place or Here?
