Hey, would anyone want to go up on Sunday the 21st? I finally got my permit in the mail and want to give the rig her first baptism by dirt/mud. It's still slightly up in the air, but I am definitely trying to get out there. Who would be down?

I would probably want to meet up somewhere near there a little before noon so we can bring some food in a cooler and eat there. Maybe meet up at 11ish?

Would be better to meet earlier, like 10, by the gate, that way, can drive in, take pictures, drive around, cook and eat by 12 or 1, hang out a couple hours, and still have time to drive around more before heading out.

Hey guys! I'm good to go with the wife for tomorrow. We are just going to bring a cooler with some food and beverages, so if you want to eat out there pack a lunch. No cooking this time; I want to get a feel for the area for my first trip out. I figured meet up at Mokuleia Beach Park at 10am and head out to Kaena Point at 1030. If you plan to meet out there a little later just say so here and we'll figure it out. I'll be in the white Taco PRO with the roof rack and front bumper. Hope to see some others out there!

Supposed to be a wet day tomorrow...Hopefully it'll hold off for ya. Have fun and take pics of that dirty white Taco!

Will do man. Should be at least a little more fun with a bit of mud.

For anyone who is planning on going, my wife and I are lagging getting out of the house, so we will probably be there just after 10.

EDIT: Leaving now, be there at about 1035ish.

Putting some up today after work. We ended up walking around the nature preserve area and then laying out at the beach after we got our fill for the trail, so we were pretty exhausted when we got home. Didn't feel like getting the pictures online haha.

Nah, I'm out in the Pearl City/Aiea area. I know there is a white TRD PRO on the east side, but that one isn't me. They don't have a big ass bumper and a roof rack :anonymous:.

Looks like fun! Just applied for my permit. Do most of you just go for a day trip or stay overnight to fish too? The permit stated no longer that 72 hrs. continuous access. If staying overnight has DLNR ever come by? I've slept over on the Yokes side just a lot of sketchy people sometimes.

I'd like to catch the sunset and stars out here w/ the SO sometime...

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Awesome, looks like things got just wet enough to make it fun for ya. Thanks for the pics!

How long does it usually take for them to send you the permit? I applied over the holidays and I'm still waiting...

I'm not sure about what others have done, but we are definitely planning on camping out there. Saw some vehicles parked out near the shore edges that looked like they had been there for a night or were planning on being there for a night. Hope that helps.

I think it took me about 2-3 weeks after I applied to actually get it. You should receive an email a week or so after you apply that says you were approved, that's when they mail it out.
