Anyone know if these springs are side specific? If so which is the R and which is the L? They came off a 2013 DC TRD Off Road, and were not labeled upon removal. My theory is that I can swap them out for my OEM 2002 X-Cab springs on a pair of 5100's at the lowest setting with minimal preload. I've seen that OME 883 are the same for Gen 1 and 2. (I may be out of my mind...)

I don't believe you're out of your mind. I used Toytec's 16" 2nd gen coils for my 1st gen paired with tundra 5100s.
The markings do denote a specific left/right. Not sure the color code for those springs tho. Call a toyota service shop or parts dept and ask. They should know
Edit: not sure if it's the same on the 2013 springs but my OEM spring on the passenger side had the white and red marking

I just dealt with this not too long ago. As far as the dealer knowing what the color markings are good luck. When I was looking for this info, nobody including the parts guys at multiple dealers, (and any Google search) knew what color was what. Finally, the parts guy at my local dealer had a contact at the parts supplier that sent him pics that he forwarded to me with the stickers still on them. The other variable is that Toyota keeps changing the colors around. I have an '05 so my colors will be different, but here are mine:

    Front Left / Driver's side - P/N # 48131-AD231 - Pink/White

    Front Right / Passenger's side - P/N # 48131-AD221 - Orange/White

At the very least someone with a '13 Offroad should be able to check for you.

Reviving an ancient thread... did anyone ever get an answer on this? I've got a set off a 15 trd off-road with the same colors and I'm not sure which is which IMG_0190.jpg

Back in my Land Rover days our lift kit springs were always slightly different. The Drivers side spring marginally taller than the passenger spring. Again, not sure if this translates to Tacomas or not.

White dot right side, yellow dot left side. That’s how I’ve been running them for the last 2+ years at least.

Are we talking 1st or 2nd gen springs?

Second gen double cab springs on a first gen x cab here. The bumper and winch help to offset the extra spring weight.

Yea mine are second gen. I tried searching but it seems Toyota has a ton of different color combinations so I was trying to find someone with my color combinations

The springs in your picture appear to be the same springs that I have have in the first pic at the top of the page. White or yellow with baby poop brown, as my first post mentions they came off a 13 DC TRD OR. I play around with the preset height to adjust my lift, ultimately with the bumper and winch I went to the highest setting on the 5100’s. They’re a little on the stiff side but I’ve done 70 plus on 2 track roads in the desert with the truck fully loaded with tools/gear and the truck floats.

    Reviving an old thread-
So yesterday i installed the above coils (white/pink-org/white) from an 05 on a new set of 5100’s on the 4th/highest position (4ring positions compared to last time i did this the 5100’s had 3 ring pos (RCDs) version) on my 2000 xtra cab with allpro tube bumper and winch. Hav not driven it yet. Worried about too much lift. Wheels spin freely at full droop however the cv boots are rubbing pretty bad. Thinking about moving the clip to #2 position rather than #4 position. This will hav limiting straps when complete. On the current setting i can still get some suspension movement from the front end grabbing the bumper using my weight. I installed freedom uca’s too. I will add pics soon as i can. Thoughts?

Not sure if there was confusion on your part as to which spring goes on which side, but pink/white is driver's side, and orange/white is passenger's side.

The colors have changed a few times over the years. I had an issue a few years back with mine getting swapped. See the thread below:

Thats how i have it. 3/8” lower on drivers side with 1/2 tank and no driver. I still think pos 4 on the 5100’s is a bit too much.
