Anyone else have this on their truck? I thought it was kind of dumb at first, but it came on the truck and it’s actually pretty well engineered...and my little boy loves to use it to climb in the bed, so there is that.

How well does it work with the tailgate down? I suppose that’s the intended design just haven’t seen or inquired about it.

I can see it being super useful to get into the bed more easily. Have you seen the way the tailgate for the Raptor has a built in step and pole?

My ‘13 F150 had the tailgate step that I thought I’d never use. I was wrong. I used it a lot!

Added one a few months ago when I found a deal.
Haven’t used it much, but i dig it. kinda adds to the ruggedness of the truck.

Pretty well, it kicks out to the side a bit when down.

And you just kick it back up in place right? No levers or latches.

Don't be silly. A poor person can't afford a 3rd gen, so the step doesn't really matter.

What kind of damage is gonna happen when that gets hung up on something off road?

I mean folks get their trailer plugs torn up pretty regular, I'd think this step would be more exposed.

Yep. Step on it to lower, small kick folds it right back up.

I'm here as well. While I can afford it I dont think the value for what is delivered is worth the price. I was bummed the first time I dropped the gate and looked for a spot on the bumper to step up on. Oversight on Toyota's engineers IMHO.

Know what you mean. After putting my foot on the plastic bumper cover where the license plate is and climbing up in my bed, the plastic cracked after a half dozen times placing my foot in that spot. And I thought... you dumb ass... you traded a truck off with a steel bumper for one with a plastic bumper. I never was the brightest star in the sky. :pout:

3B7929B2-A9D0-44B0-9BF5-2B2232BE2EBA.jpg I dig it. Makes it super easy to get onto the bed. I left the tire days behind.

Heavy duty spring actuated. Awesome engineering on this one. Thought I’d find it bent up, after going to Hungry Valley. But it was still good to go on a stocker.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I love mine -- did not come on the truck -- I bought at a great price from a nice guy in Wa. who off roads, and did not like the step dragging back there.
So -- it is good for some and not others --simple stuff here on this --I agree they are pricey when bought new--sadly most don't even notice the extra it adds to their payments!
