General maintenance update - 30k service done in the last 2 weeks

Changed front/rear diff and transfer case oil - Mobil 1 75w90 - Front and rear were pretty dark, will probably change closer to 20k-25k next time. T-Case looked good still.

Lubed driveshaft with Lucas Red and Tacky

Changed spark plugs out at 31k to all Denso. Not a bad job at all. Couple of 6" extensions taped together and I was able to work around around most stuff under the hood.

Oil changed at 35k - Going to switch to Mobil 1 synthetic at 40k.

Ready to pull the trigger on either full Prinsu racks (hopeful for a CBI GB or sale!) or a dual swingout rear bumper (waiting to see Pelfreybilt's soon-to-be released bumper)!

Got my Prinsu mounted this morning! Install wasn’t too bad. The hole punch method on the weather stripping is def the way to go!

Still need to run the wires for the light bar, but that’s a project for another day.

    Appreciate it!

Yeah, waiting to see Pelfreybilt’s dual swing-out offering. It was supposed to be ready by the end of 2017, but got pushed back another couple months.

Ah I see. That'd be sweet. What's the advantage of a dual swing-out vs. a regular swing-out? Sounds like just 1 more side to have to push open to gain access to the bed

I tow a boat at least once a week... Sometimes 3-4 times, depending on work. I need to keep access to the bed without hitting the bow post on the trailer. I really only want a swingout on one side, just a half width one. I don’t have a need for Jerry cans or rotopax on the other arm. I know Pelfreybilt won’t do any custom work, so I may see if Brute Force Fab can do a half width rear swingout.

Yeah I don't blame em though, the dual swingout AND a supposed 1st Gen front bumper... yeah they're getting SLAMMED with orders. I remember during the summer when we were over Satin said in the last year or two their business grew by... something like 300%! I was like holyyyyy f*** that's nuts. I mean they make a damn good product so it's hard to beat.

I'm sure other fab shops will do custom work, it's all about asking since you're definitely in need of just a half and not a full swing out in the rear

Guess I should update this... Seeing as how it’s been a year and a half.

Ended up getting my Prinsu Toprac back during Black Friday 2018. Ordered from Truck Brigade with free shipping and a little bonus discount for being in Fire.

Few little things added from the April TRD 40% off sale - TRD shift knob, oil cap, and radiator cap.

Picked up my 2nd set of 285/75r16 KO2s thanks to the $100 off $400 purchase from Discount Tire Direct eBay back in Oct 2018. Saved $200 off the set and also got a $70 gift card from BFG! Plus sold my old set for $200! Basically out of pocket less than $400 for a new set of tires. Installed at 48k miles. Plan to rotate the matching spare in on this set.

Also sold my Denver Outfitters 3 Fly Rod Vault and picked up a Riversmith 4 Rod Holder.

Just did my 53k mile oil change with Mobil1 synthetic 5w30. Plan on doing front/rear/tranny fluid change and driveshaft greasing at 55k.

Also just gave her a much needed bath and wax last week!

Well, haven’t updated this build page in 2 years... Guess it’s about that time haha!

Last summer, I added some Rago Fab stiffeners after noticing an increasing gap at the top of the tailgate.

Also put together a bed cargo shelf with some wood that we had leftover from redoing our back porch.

Fast forward to March 19th 2021, I had an old man come across 4 lanes of traffic and hit me right in front of the driver side rear tire. Sent me spinning, but luckily no injuries in any of the 3 vehicles involved.

Over $12k in repair bills - Body damage, bent leaf spring hanger, busted leaf spring, separated driveshaft, etc

Between a busy repair shop, slow insurance, and part shortages, the truck wasn’t back with me until August 6th!!!

And to make things even worse, I had ordered a BAMF HC dual swing out during November 2020 Black Friday sale and had just gotten the shipping notification the week of the accident. So I’ve had this bad ass bumper sitting in my garage for over 4 months!

Got the bumper powder coated while I waited on the truck and mounted a set of Baja Designs S1 wide cornering reverse lights. Waiting on some edge trim from Trail Toys before hacking the freshly replaced/painted bedside off!

    Truck looks great!

How did you attach the Riversmith to the roof rack? I have a Prinsu shipping and have an old Denver Outfitters rod vault that I will need to upgrade but it's what I have now ;)

Appreciate it! I just used the standard Riversmith mounting feet and clamped them to the Prinsu cross bars. I had to move the cross bars around a little to get the correct spacing for the rod rack, but it was pretty straightforward once they were set.
