So I've been eyeing these products for a bit.
Main reason is I haven't had a white vehicle in the driveway since my high school days and I forgot how dirty they get even after touch less washes.

Obviously it's no bucket of sudsy water and sponge but how well do they clean without marring?

Why wouldn't I just use a detail spray after auto wash? Do they actually have cleaning agents?

I'll be doing some more research today but I'm basically in the product selection stage and I don't want to buy a waste of space.

I would go with Optimum No-Rinse. I don't use it as a water-less wash, but as a rinse-less wash in the winter. Power wash the truck then spray and wipe down with the properly diluted solution and some microfiber towels. It's more economical than a detail spray and can be used as a clay-bar lube or a detail spray at full strength.

    https://www.amazon.com/Optimum-NR20...d=1516015540&sr=8-1&keywords=optimum+no+rinse

Follow it up with some Opt-Seal and you have a clean and protected vehicle to get you through the winter months.

... white stays looking clean the best out of all colors...

Touchless washes usually don’t work well. Probably why your truck isn’t clean.

You should wash your truck by hand. Then use a high quality sealer to make it easier to clean moving forward. Auto washes will strip pretty much all products off a truck. Its easier to keep a vehicle looking nice with hand washes.

Waterless washes are best for people in areas with restrictions on car washing (or for spot cleaning). They increase the chances you will scratch your finish.

Full disclosure, this is for my wife's new car. My truck has been fully detailed and sealed pre winter.
I know i need to get a coat of sealant on it and it will get a full detail in the spring.

You know as well as i do there are shades of "clean" white then. All shades look clean from 10 feet away but you can easily wipe a section and notice the difference.

Ive never used one of these products is all. I have a full boat of detailing supplies, minus a waterless because i always thought it would be sac-religious.

My theoretical chain of events would be, toucheless wash, use a waterless to get it "clean", then get one of my sealants on it for the duration of winter until i can get the polisher on it and maybe some ceramic.

    AHHHH! Who would do that?!?!

I think you should just not be obsessive about it looking like a show car right now.

Washing it with the two bucket method and a hose is best for the finish (and easiest). Save the money you’ll spend on a waterless wash and spend it on other supplies.

I havent washed my truck in 3 months. Winter is the time to not care about driving a shiny truck.

I don’t get what you are trying to do.
A waterless wash, clay, and sealer is just as much effort outside in the winter as a waterless wash, clay, and sealer.

So I don’t get the combo of lazy and OCD.

Not lazy, just averaging below 20 degrees here. So if washing cars in the freezing cold sound like fun, cheers to you.

I just want to clean and get some wax on my wife's damn car for some temporary protection without a wash bucket. I thought it was pretty obvious in my postings.

    Thanks for being helpful

I know what you mean. My girl has a black crv. I try wash it every week and I’ll wax it every other week. But if it’s not too dirty and just have a “film” on it I’ll use chemical guys eco wash. I like it a lot; disclaimer tho: when using any waterless washes you gotta saturated the surface and use PLENTY of microfiber towels to try and prevent any swirls/scratches. After using the eco wash normally I’ll follow up with v7. But if you wanna Wax should be fine.

I'm thinking of grabbing some of the Optimum No Rinse Wash myself to give it a try.

I tried out the Chemical guys waterless wash. Basically a glorified detail spray. Does the trick after the auto wash to get all the shit off the paint for sure.
Something still sketches me out about cleaning the car this way.

I cant wait to go the ceramic coat route this spring and have stuff just rinse off.

A car can still get dirty with ceramic and can require a hand wash. However costed cars do stay cleaner longer. This has been my experience with Optimum Gloss Coat. Have not used any other coatings yet.

For sure. I don't think I'll ever alter my 2 bucket routine regardless. Just peace of mind knowing it has a "better" layer of protection, especially in the winter months is the goal. I've always used klasse with great results. Interested to see what these coatings offer.

I use Optimum No Rinse Wash as a quick detailer to get rid of bird droppings, sprinkler spotting, etc instead of a full on wash (the full on wash process over time is what causes swirls). If you use a regular quick detailer, I have found that the paint "pops" more. It does not clean as well, however, which is the primary purpose for myself. With my ceramic coat, I can go between 2-3 weeks between washings (unless it rains) by just quick detailing my truck with the optimum no rinse. I have a 60 mile round trip commute.

I use Meguiar's D115. One of these bottles is 60-something bucks, but it dilutes at a minimum 4:1 ratio so it ends up being super cheap. It's very useful--I'll use it to get off light to medium dirt, water spots from light rain, etc. Just make sure to use a lot of it so you don't scratch the paint.

I also use it after spraying the truck off at the car wash in the winter. I never use an automatic car wash, but while the manual ones with the spray guns work okay they don't actually get the truck clean enough to dry without scratching the paint. A little bit of waterless car wash after you drive home will get that last bit of dirt off. It only takes about 5 mins.

Here are some videos on how to use:
