I see this is an older post that 5 Lug Fury appears to not have answered, yet.

I don't think he's done anything vis a vis gearing as of yet. With now going 33's, i'm betting that's on his very short list :)

If he's going for the Eaton Detroit Trutrac .. it's this item here.

    https://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetr...aspx?t_c=12&t_s=237&t_pt=5589&t_pn=EAT913A541

I had this installed into my 3rd member at same time as gear-change to 4.10:1 in September 2017. I don't go off-road (intentionally, anyway) but put it in for our winter road conditions - and the past few weeks, it has been amazing, vs the original open differential. NO weight in the back (i got lazy before winter conditions were upon us) and yet it finds traction and accelerates in road-snow conditions with confidence.

    It's a mechanical LSD, pretty much a bullet-proof design.

So what is the best shock for the front? I want a smoother ride and no lift. Already have 29’s all the way around.

Pretty much your only option is the Bilstein 4600s made for our truck.

Mine are still doing good, since install in 2015. Holding the ARB bumper up, has not killed them yet.

    Thank you,

What about the 5100's for the rear? I know it will never be as soft as my Raptor, but a I can try and keep it from donkey kicking on these junky Korea roads.

The 5100s are slightly too tall for stock. Same as the fox....it's amazing how much a 2" aal in the rear helps lol

Are you replacing parts on the front-end to be 6-lug as well, or are you planning on carrying two different spares?

One day I hope to do some custom front spindles that use 6 lug hubs but for now I'm running an adapter in the rear

Kenny already swapped the rear from 5lug SUA to 6lug adapted SOA. @5 Lug Fury, I'll buy the upper off of you if you ever change your mind:D

And now the ....6 lug elocker axle swap (With SOA Swap!!!)

    IMG_20180523_181644.jpg

    Problems:

So right off the bat I want to note the problems I've run into. Now don't get me wrong I have no regrets doing this but there was definitely some hiccups along the way.

First up the drive shaft was too short and required a 1.25" spacer

    IMG_20180601_182454.jpg

    IMG_20180601_191930.jpg
    IMG_20180611_202152.jpg

The second issue which took the longest to dial in was the leaf springs and axle wrap. I used 6 lug leaf springs from a 2016 3rd gen and it turns out 3rd gen leaf springs are 1" taller than 2nd gen 6 lugs. This caused the rear end to be wayyyy to tall and stiff, so I removed the overload spring. Now that the height and stiffness seemed about right I had to fix the clunking when stopping and going caused by axle wrap. I ended up using 4 leaf spring clamps, but there is still an occasional clunk. Apparently this is just common with Toyota spring over axle leafs. With all that being said the rear end feels good its.

I did also need an adapter to go from 6 lug back to 5 lug (for now) and this added an extra 2" in the rear

Now for some random install pictures

    Getting the axle

Out with the old (Look at dem extended brake lines lol)

    IMG_20180603_134146.jpg

And in this picture you can see how thick the rear is compared to the front (1.75" more)
