I love the look of the new Colorado. Love the motor options and the auto trans is great. The front and rear locker makes it very capable off-road in stock form.

But I will take reliability and resale value over anything else every time. Love my toyotas.

Good for Chevy. I'll never own a Colorado. I've driven one and the seats are rock hard, I don't like the power delivery, and the blind spots are pretty bad. also, crash ratings are abysmal compared to other trucks in the class.

the heated seats are really good though!

I think the Colorado looks better than any Tacoma honestly. And I liked the interior when I test drove it.

Beyond that, Tacoma is better in every way imo.

Good looking truck...diesel, front and rear locked....awesome.....BUT....I'll take my Tacoma any day for reliability. Maybe I'm a Fanboy of Toyota??? Yeah...but it's only because I've owned so many and they been put through the ringer....They're proven. I'd like to see a Colorado in 17 years with 220k miles doing cross country trips.

Yea... No contest. At first look, the diesel in a mid size truck is way cool. But it just isn’t a Toyota; I’ve had too much good luck with this brand over the years. Anecdotal, I know, but I’m sold on this brand (though my Nissan and Subi experiences have been pretty good as well).

Oh yea, the interior of the taco is better than the canyon/ colorado.
Maybe someday we’ll be able to get the Hilux for that sweet diesel action...

There will never be a GM vehicle in my driveway

Why do the rear shock mounts hang down so low?

like that the rear shock mount is the lowest point on the truck, most breakable thing too

It’s brand new so everything is good on it. Let’s see if it’s still running at 150000 miles and let’s see how many times it goes in the shop during those 150000 miles. I’ll stick with my Taco 4x4.

I've always wondered that as well. That and the spare tire almost drags the ground as well. Whats above it. There is a guy at work that has one and i want to crawl under it to see why i can almost see his whole spare tire. Ice chest like the Ridgeline? It was the first thing i noticed when bought it an parked in front of me, well, that and those shock mounts.
I'm sure its a fine truck though. But like others, i got to have my manual. Hope they never kill it in the Tacoma.

You can almost hear their knees hitting the ground in unison to the almighty third gen.

If you run any 2nd or 3rd gen truck with a 32" plus spare it'll drag the ground if you max out your departure angle, 255's not withstanding. Given the Colorado comes stock with 32's it's not really a feature of note on either truck. I'm saying this because I had a buddy put a hole in his spares sidewall 2 weeks ago on a run with a 285 spare. You could see the scuff marks on the tire around the rock that eventually went through even though his trailer hitch was the first point of contact.

The ZR2 takes the capable Colorado platform to a new level with a dizzying array of modifications including front and rear electric differential lockers, Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve shocks, a 2-inch-taller ride height, 3.5-inch-wider track width, additional skidplating, 31-inch tires, and many more off-road-centric goodies. The result is a truck that is willing and able to conquer terrain that would leave most other trucks behind,” says Four Wheeler Editor Ken Brubaker.

Maybe he means 31.6"? Mine is that sizes and still tucks up under. I'll climb under coworkers truck at lunch, lol...

Hmm, maybe it’s that 32’s are the largest size you can run at stock height on the ZR2. That’s what is on my neighbours ZR2 which quite honestly he only uses as a large side by side on his farm land.
