This is my baby. A 2001 SR5 4x4 Tacoma that I bought Dec. 26, 2015 for $5500 after it had been totaled and then made somewhat street legal with a reclaimed title. She's not perfect, with the bowed and dented frame, excessive zip ties replacing clips and bolts, mismatched doors, and a ghetto paint job, but I have never had a single problem from this truck. Now on to the "build".

As she sits today: 240,000 miles

What made you go with the lockrite over the no slip locker?

Price mostly. And I heard it's a bit more reliable and aggressive on the lockup, but can't back that up

I heard they were a bit noisy that's why I went with the no slip over the lockrite in my prerunner.
It will pop pretty violent about once a year.

It does click on really tight turns but it isn't obnoxious. Had it unload a couple times, all while towing a trailer

Assuming you're going to gear this thing, this might be relevant to you...

I spoke with ECGS the other day. My situation (like yours) for the diff swap is going to be a little different because I have the locker already installed in the rear. I want the locker in the new third member. Instead of buying new diffs, then sending the old ones back for the core refund. They will let you send them your 3rd and clamshell first, and they will build your originals with new gears and your current lockers, then send them back to you. There is no wait time on this because they won't have to wait for a core to use (apparently that's a fairly common problem). Said they would only need one full day with them once received. Grand total $1,290.00

Wow that sounds pretty sweet! I was just talking to someone the other day about the logistic of getting the lockers switched out. Thanks for that. Might be a good option if I can send it while I'm out of town for work one week

Yep, I have never installed/removed a locker. How is that? if it's not bad it might be worth it to just order them up front, and then send in your cores for the refund. idk.

Install is easy. Just helps to have a torque wrench and an impact. I've never had to pull them out, but doesn't seem that hard. You'd just need to find a way to compress the pins and springs to pull them out of the window
