Bought this SSP from a local TW member on impulse, he bought a MT and didn't need it. So I just installed this super easy mod. In in 10 minutes as described on the website. I am very happy to report that I love this mod! I love my truck, minor irritation with the tranny. This mod makes me love the transmission. Does everything as advertised and makes it much more enjoyable to drive. Well worth the asking price! 10 stars! I would recommend getting one asap before he sells out! I made out look a bandit, $175 for the SSP and a set of CBI ditch brackets!
    Scored on Tacoma World!
    Thanks
    David

Can someone please tell me how it feels to run 33s with the ssp as 100 pages is like 5 hours of reading for me.

    Much appreciated.

I recently purchased this from a memeber, it’s the original one. From what I understand there is a update? Or how can I find out if it’s already updated. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You can go to their website and you should be able to tell what version you have. They can sell you a new chip from there... easy to switch out.

How does the ssp compare to having ect on all the time? I was in ect with S mode testing how high are the shifting points from 4 to 5 for example and it seemed pretty decent, being in the low 50's which is one of the main things the ssp addresses.

ECT changes shift map AND Throttle Map. There was some speculation that S mode used a different shift map but I can't recall noticing much difference.

I personally didn't like the "tip-in" in ECT especially in Stop and go traffic. It seemed abrupt. Around town and in Hooligan mode it was fine and I would use it at times or when I was driving through the mountains. In the Mtns I'd have to shift manually in Smode anyway so I never really used SSP and ECT much together in my daily commute or around town travels.

SSP gives you the altered shift map ( or choice of 3 now) while maintaining the standard throttle map. Or letting you change the shift map and the throttle map independently.

Why not email the owner through the website? He’s incredibly responsive.

Got mine in the mail yesterday, two days after ordering it.
High quality manufacture. Installed in minutes and my seat of my pants review from my short ride home is that it works !

Very true, but I figured I ask my original question and scroll through a couple more pages.

Bought this last week and installed yesterday. Must have for your truck. Love my Tacoma but as everyone has written the searching, hard shifts and the lag is less then desired. Especially since this is my second Tacoma and Toyota has made bomb proof trucks in the past. Still a fan but they need to figure out this tranny stuff. I am not that picky and i noticed the difference. The shift sense was very easy to install. I was a little worried after watching the video. I thought I would struggle pulling the center console out - not too bad. The video instruction was better then the written since you can actually get a visual. I disconnected the negative on the battery. Which is worth it but it reset some of the settings on the truck. All in all so far driving around town and on the freeway - worth the money and i noticed the difference. It is nice you have the option to drive with it on or off. The only complaint is longer cords so you can hide under dash. Is there a cord you can buy to extend?
