Except OP included /etc which would imply all the YWG variants. I haven't tried mine yet but I'm willing to bet it won't work for me either. The cons of owning a rare variant.

Being curious, just connected my handheld to my PC, let it update, then connected to truck and nothing new to report.

Okay folks I apologize for the continued delay. I have ordered a ECU so that I can apply the TRD files through techstream and then read the ECU on the bench, that way I can get clean sheet of the data for submission without any checksum problems.

I am very sorry we have ran into these issues

at this point they don't know what the issue is with the binary but by pulling the data direct by JTAG from the board it will be a clean build of the ROM(s).

    and it will work.

If you have a NON TRD supercharged ECU version that is not showing up please send me a message with the ROM ID I'll get it checked out asap.

If OVTune doesn't want or need the ECU I would like to get a hold of one to tinker with....

I fell like this is taking so long because it's one of the few threads I follow. Kind of like how the cashier at the grocery store always steps away for some reason when I'm up next.

I've got an ECU out of my former 2010 that has the TRD SC tune in it, if that will speed up the process.

ECU ordered should be here any day and then I'll be able to have everything updated. I apologize for the delays so far.

I really have no idea what this means.... ECU ordered... When I purchased this in early November it sounded like you were well on your way, in fact it sounded like everything was working and shipments were imminent. I don't have time to read back through the thread but I believe the ship date was Nov 21.

Since then I have seen few posts from you and the ones I see are cryptic. I don't do Facebook, I need updates here in this thread where I found and decided to purchase this unit. I see your Christmas week shutdown from someone else who read it on Facebook. I see you are out of town for week in January from someone else who read it on Facebook.

Please tell me what the issue is with the unit I have purchased... I am not a gambling man and I don't have a ton of money. I invested $450 in a unit that at the time sounded like a no problem done deal. Why are you waiting on an ECU at this point? What happened between the 21st of November and now that you need more hardware to complete the product you sold. Please update this thread with something more than one line posts. I asked you for a useful update through a PM but you ignored that so I have to face the forum posts of "give him time" and "this is not easy" and all that other crap. I don't like being told off in forums but here we are.

    So to sum up...

what broke between November and now that is causing this worrying delay...
post a detailed update as to when you expect to get back on track
continue to update this thread with detailed posts for those of us who don't do facebook

You don't have to follow anything on Facebook because If it's Tacoma related it's posted here. I have many other customers who only use Facebook and I update then this way, which is not Tacoma stuff.

I need an ecu to flash an OE file and then rip the data off the processor directly because for *some* versions, mostly TRD, conversion from cuw to bin results in a checksum error. But pulling bin off the processor will not.

The handheld work, they just have to have your ecu version ready. Some people have already sent me readouts of their truck. Other ecu versions I'm working on solving the checksum issue on, and will be able to with a ecu in hand.
