Hi everyone, last weekend (January 13, 2018) I joined the T4R (Tacoma, 4Runner) Experience team for their Florida event, and I had a great time.

Please check them out on Facebook at They are trying to go to every state and put together a trail ride including a nature clean-up and camping in the evening. Their first event was in Georgia, and you can check out the video of this event on their Facebook page. Florida was their second event, and North Carolina is their next event on February 17th, 2018.

I would recommend this event to everyone. So follow them on Facebook and see when they will be in your state. The only vehicle requirement is to have 4x4, so as long as you have that, you can do it with a stock vehicle. They pick some great trails that are appropriate for drivers without much off-roading experience, but still fun and scenically beautiful for the experienced drivers. These events are also kid and pet friendly, so you can bring the whole family. I included some group pictures and pictures of my car at the event. These photos where taken by the T4R team and posted on Facebook.

They also do a raffle in the evening with some great prizes (grand prize was a set of firestone wheels of your choosing) and good odds (1 out of 30 at the Florida event).

Plus, taking part in this event is completely free.

Great pics! Definitely want to try to make the next one whenever that is.

Had a question, what size tire and rim are you running? And stock height or lifted? Want to put 285's on my Taco but really dont want to hear or deal with rubbing.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am currently running 265/75/16 with 16x8 0mm offset wheels. I also have the 5100 Bilstein shocks for the 3rd gen Tacomas, set on the second notch in the front, giving me a 0.65" lift according to the website, this will be similar to your lift height on the pro. I am planning on going 285/75/16 on the same wheels in the near future. With my set up I might get away with no rubbing to very minimal rubbing, but I will be doing the CMC (cab mount chop) before I move up, just in case. I might also have to bend over the pinch weld and manipulate some of the plastic liner. Do some research on this forum, there is plenty of information on this topic and a lot of write ups on what people have encountered and dealt with to fit 285's. You can also check out my build thread, linked in my signature, for more information on my exact set-up and what else I plan to do in the future.

As far as the T4R Experience goes, it is a really great event, and an awesome introduction into off-roading if you do not have much experience, and even a ton of fun if you do. Look them up on Facebook or google it for more information.

    Hope this helps. Cheers.

Much appreciated for the info! So far I've found some people either don't have any problems and then others have to do what you mentioned above. Might just have to bite the bullet, and see what happens, and go from there.

Will definitely keep an eye out for the next T4R event, and good luck with your build, it's already looking good!
