Just a heads up...Lance (Toyota expert at 4WheelParts) said none of the steel wheels would fit our 5 lugs...and he steered me to the alloys...Pro Comp 7069 15x8s, -19 offset specifically (the ones referenced by OP above)... I'm not sure how accurate the information is as I have not verified it for myself. I'm just repeating what he told me... I've been told that BFG KO2 235/75R15s will not properly fit on the 15x8s...would have to go up to 30" tire...other brands may work...ie., Falken AT3W 235s specs say they will fit on 6-8" rims...

I switched to steel wheels from alloys... granted I don't have 235/75/15 anymore I have 33x12.5xr15. My tires are 12.5 in wide and my rims are once again 15x8 (steel instead of alloy now)

He probably steered you towards alloys because they either don't have the right size and offset or he wants you to pay more...same with going bigger than 235

Nice, Fury. Which brand of steelies did you go with? Offset?

I originally (and still) want(ed) some low budget < under $70 > steelies with more neutral/negative offset... Was told by 4wheelparts that none of theirs would clear calipers...

I just called Discount Tires today to inquire about their Unique 297s... Asked for 16x7s... their fitment calculator says they won't fit, but the 15s will. I mentioned caliper issue that we have with our 5 lugs...and asked if he would order one to try. He agreed. I'll post back results as soon as I get them.

Not sure why the 16s wouldn't fit if the 15s do...I'm thinking about asking him to order a 16 to try also...

Maybe we can get a definite list / sticky together of what works and what doesn't...

    Just a quick UPDATE:

I stopped by Discount Tires on the way home...to put a face to a name...and to ask Moe if he would order the 16s in addition to the 15s to try on for fitment. He said he would...

It's a good thing I stopped by because he was going to order 15x8...when I wanted the 7s...He tried to talk me into the 8" rims saying that if I wanted to go with larger tires in the future I'd be set with the 8s...

I kind of doubt that I'll ever go larger than the 235s and so held firm that I wanted the 7s also due to KO2 specs calling for 6-7" rims for the 235/75R15....

He said he had the 235s on 8s on his previously owned 4 cyl. taco 4x2 (and I know others have done it), but I guess I'd just rather follow what BFG specs call for...don't know enough about tire fitment to go against their recommendations. 7s seem like a happy medium.

So, Moe is going to order up a 15x7 and 16x7 with 0 offset...said they should be in by Thursday. I'll post updates when I get them...

I also asked him what our factory offset is showing in their system. He looked it up and their system said 50 offset...which surprised me because I saw a chart of all tacos (I'll have to find and post it) and thought it said 34 offset. Hmmm.
