A good chunk of the axle mounts have been built as well. They are pretty beefy and wrap around the cast. They have multiple passes of weld as well. 20171201_145748.jpg

Got the axle under before heading back to work to start seeing where links are going to end up. Looks like my top link is going to have to be bent to fit in place. Links are 2" .250 wall DOM. And EMF large rod ends using 3/4" bolts.

Made some clearance for my lower links to tuck up higher. The lower links will be 41" long and the upper link will be 31" long. Still trying to figure out how to fit everything in the front but it shouldn't be too bad. The panhard is going to be roughly 35" and the drag link around 45" curious to know how bad that's going to affect my steering.

@canadian bum what did you do for exhaust? Im doing this same 2uz swap (but 03'4runner donor) I'm looking at Thorley headers for a 4runner that you have to weld to the runner cats. May delete cats, may try to weld to my existing cats and exhaust. Not sure...

Well got more parts and progress made. So far the fiberglass is going to need a bunch of work for proper mounting and fitting. But should look awesome when done. Also it's in hopes of attempting to not get too much attention from the authorities while driving on the highway.

Lower link mounts are in and for the most part fully welded in. Lower link length is 40 and 1/4 inches. Had to clearance the purchased bracket, but it will all be reinforced. Flipped them around from their proper direction to keep it nice and close to the transmission crossmember.

Got the upper link bent and put in. Almost a little too much angle. I'll cycle the suspension and see how everything works once I get the panhard done.

@canadian bum why did you decide to relocate the frame motor mounts rather than modify the transmission cross member to move the trans back and shorten the drive shaft (which will need work anyway)
And now you'll need to run electric fans on your radiator right? Or does the stock one still fit?

No the radiator from the v8 4runner will work with no modifications. It's what I'm running in my v8 Tacoma

So did you use the 4Runner motor mounts without modding your frame in the engine bay? If so you had to move your trans mount back right?

My truck was originally 4cyl. I left the chassis mounts alone and built off the motor to meet the chassis. But if he is gonna retain the factory mounts I'm sure moving the chassis mounts are easier in his case

The mounts had to be moved back anyways if I left them where they were the engine would be even further forward. It was nothing to move the frame mounts but fiddling with the trans crossmember is a totally different ball of wax. Engine mounts are nothing in comparison.

You want some pictures of my crossmember? I left the frame alone and outer parts of the crossmember where they were and moved the center back

No I don't need any pictures. Engine is in everything is fully welded in and I have a previous skid I built for my old Tacoma that I'm using on this truck that has the crossmember already built into it. The next bit will be getting the coil over towers in place and panhard mount fabbed up and panhard in. I'm going to try to get the truck off jackstands I don't have that much more to go to get to that point.
