I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma, and I LOVE it. a few months back, the climate control knobs starting acting a little wonky. In particular, the middle knob that controls how hot or cold the air is, stopped turning smoothly - it only turns with loud metallic pops and clicks. At this point, no matter where the dial is pointed, it's blowing cold. I checked the fuses, and they look fine. Any thoughts on effecting a repair? What needs replacing, and how could I get it? Thanks guys!

Its common for these hvac knobs to crack over time so when you turn it the cracked plastic is turning and making noise but does not provide enough force to turn the blend door cable, first pull off the knob and inspect it. If it is cracked swap it with another one ex. "blower motor knob". If it works all set just a knob if it still does not work then its possible it is a cable issue.

Thanks so much man - I did get the dash apart, and the knob being stripped is the culprit. Any thoughts on where I could get my hands on something like that? Can find at my auto parts store, don't know where to look online. Thanks in advance!

your better off trying to find one in a junkyard or from the dealership. They don't cost much if i remember correctly
