Thanks for the lead... so back to my question about versions of the 5100's... your guide shows multiple versions of those shocks. Are they older/ newer or different in features?

Can I run 275 70 17 with this lift at an additional 2 inches?

Yep, always better to let the springs do the lifting like they're supposed to. Springs are only about $165 and you'll get a much better ride.

Love them, 20k miles on them and the wear is great. Probably get another 20k miles. Good on the road, dirt, hard sand and the little snow we've had here. Have not gotten them in the mud yet but they're not really a mud tire.

Only regret is I wish they came in a 275/70/17

OP--badass looking truck. I am thinking about this same set-up. What is your mpg with this tire and lift combo?

If I keep it below 65mph and don't use cruise, I usually see 21-22mpg per tank. Anything 70+ and it's probably 17-18 mpg. Remember I also have the additional weight of sliders and the loaded toolbox. That alone probably adds another 175 lbs.

Well got it all set. I got about .75in bro lean. Haven't gotten an alighment yet. Hoping they'll settle and I can leave the rear alone. This is probably the shittiest pic ever. I took a quick shot before I came into work.

OP.... Great info and build. I have some Q's.

Did you have to do anything out of the ordinary to get the 2nd gen 5100s to bolt up?

Also, did you get the front strut/springs pre-assembled?

    Thanks.

Nothing special needs to be done to use 2nd gen bilsteins, they bolt right in.

I sourced my shocks and springs from two different vendors, bought my shocks before I even had the truck and they sat in my garage for 18 months before I decided to use them. I liked the OEM ride and wasn't in a hurry to change it. No pre-assembly.

Once I decided to lift I went back and forth between 885 and 887, decided the 885 would keep the rake and make aligning easier.

Looks good, really can't tell the front is higher. FYI my front is still sitting just over 1.75 inches from stock after 6 weeks.

So you have 5100s and 885 springs in the front and the stock bilstein 4600s in the back?

OP, great write up. I'll be looking to reference your setup in my lift, if not follow it to a tee.

BTW - Thank you for your service.

I think your lift and truck looks awesome. I have a 2017 long bed also and want to do the same Lift.
I was hoping I could get the Bilstein # for the rear shocks.
