The "510" resistor is a 51 ohm, 2 W surface mount resistor. I replaced mine with a 50 ohm 5W leaded resistor, which I soldered to the pads where the surface mount resistor fell off. This is a common problem in hot climates. The resistor drops the voltage prior to the regulator, and was not adequately spec'd for high ambient temps. Mine fell of twice before I up sized the resistor. you can buy the resistor from Mouser or Digi-key, or from Fry's Electronics if you are in the west. Digi key P/N is 51W-5-ND. Mount to case with epoxy or similar, and run two fairly fine wires to resistor (the resistor leads are stiff, and will lift the PCB pads)
