I am just a big fan of this product and current use them in three vehicles. Pictures below of the iOwall mounts install on the "In-Dash hidden universal mount" in my Tacoma.

No. It is their own metal ball that the magnet (iOcore) attaches to.

This is a cool setup for the iocore but the price is stupid for what it is. Someone needs to make something for the tacoma.

 

has anyone here tried the MobNetic from Mob Armor also and can compare? i have the Mobnetic and modified it with another mount to make it work, but the magnets were a bit too weak for my HTC10, a metal phone, kinda heavy. i had to double up the magnets. i'd consider the iOcore if it was crazy strong. but if the phone ever moves even a little from normal driving then forget it. just wondering if anyone's compared the two.

here's a bad pic of my mount, which works great just a little phone movement over big bumps.

 

If you go to their site, click on the proclip tab, you can search for the mounts they have available by vehicle. The options for Tacoma are not great.

 

I had to watch the video. It seems they are just buying the iOauto Pro Dome, taking it apart and reselling it.

I haven't used a Mobnetic, so can't compare. I will tell you that in 4 years of using iOcores, I have never dropped a phone where the adapter was in direct contact with the magnet. Currently, I have a bodyguardz cover over the phone, covering the adapter which is on the phone. If I hit a big bump, it will rotate a little. But not often enough to put it on the outside of the case.

So they are selling the same product and upcharging to 79.99? Got it. Well that’s shitty considering they buy from you below 55$ and still upcharge. Maybe you should have all vendors agree to MAP so this doesn’t happen.

 

We are working on pricing with them, however they do provide other hardware, different packaging, etc. so it is not necessarily the same thing. Klock Werks is a highly respected company and they are great people. They have a very specific market and different solutions. This is a relatively new product for us so we are still working our pricing. Also, keep in mind that they need to make a profit as well and their cost is substantially higher than ours on our product.

In any case, we are here to help and want to make sure we try to make everyone happy.

 

Which metal ball mount thing is used in the photo?

 

That is our iOwall: https://www.iomounts.com/products/iowall. It comes with a wall mount hardware that screws in to the sphere and has a 1/4-20ID thread. (The sphere has a 3/8-24 thread). Hope this helps!
