Same happened with mine. Had to strip it completely and paint it. Only 2 of the verticle pieces seemed done right. Sucked. Because otherwise I like the rack.

Our powder coater had a period of time where their prep chemicals were out of whack (as indicated by the bubbling).

We will get replacement parts to you.

Would love to see you offer these racks in an aluminum option.

How much did it cost you to get it stripped and repainted? Mine is at the point where I could blow on it and it flakes off and I've had it for not quite 7 months.

3.5 rattle cans just about covers the rack. Also bought chem stripper and plastic drop cloth to protect the yard. Still needed sandpaper for the patch areas that were done right. Can't get a 4" wire wheel on most areas. 9" might of work but I don't have one any more and wasn't going to buy one.

    -2 coats of primer- $28
    $4 (7 cans)
    -3 coats of paint- $44
    $4 (11 cans)
    -3 jugs of stripper -$30
    -Sand paper- $15 or so
-Putty knife for inside channels -$8
    -(3) 4mil 10x20 plastic drop cloth -$48
Had to strip in phases because it took so long. The sparse good areas sucked.
    -Alcohol to clean - $7
-Gloves -$8 deff must for stripping

Total +$188 plus no less than 10 hours of stripping.

I probably should have just ditched the rack to be honest. I has about 3 weekends into chemical stripping the paint, block sanding , and filing the inner parts of the holes, which there are a lot of. After, I wiped all surfaces down with alcohol and hung all the pieces in the yard with line which was a pain in the ass. Primed and painted them.

Bad news is some of those rust spots were a pain to get to. And it shows, because they're eating through the paint again.

I like the design of the rack, but I can't say I'd suggest to buy it. Not worth it. To answer your question

Thanks and ya its a pain because its a strong design but the paint leave much to be desired even if they added a primer layer it would work better, i might see what it would take to lineX it or something

I'm spot sanding, priming the bare spots, and going right to bed liner paint. Brush on.

Or maybe just get it good enough and put it on the north east market.

Our powder coater really fucked us with a bad batch of parts. We will reimburse you for that.

@KB Voodoo Side note deff not a dig at the rack. The rack itself on your part is a great product. Works perfect for what we use it for.

I'm in the same boat with my rail caps. There is no powder coat left on the edges and its starting to flake off in sheets on the flat surfaces. Planning on having them sand blasted and repainted soon. I'll update with pics at lunch.

I have powder-coat items from BAMF and Mobtown Offroad, with no problems whatsoever.

However, the one and only item from KB VooDoo, is doing this:

I am so glad I went with bed rail caps from Mobtown Offroad. Almost 4 years old now, and not a single problem with the powder coat. Shame they don't offer them anymore.

Can't wait to see the pics of your rail caps.

These have been on the truck for about 6 weeks. They've been modified to allow my rrt rack to bolt on. If I hadn't drilled holes in them already I'd be sending them back but I'm under a time crunch and will be having them blasted and repowdered locally.

Having the same issue with my rack after one winter. Really enjoying the product but the powder coat is really disappointing. Wondering if it can be replaced or re-sprayed locally as summer is fast approaching and need a clean ride. @KB Voodoo
