I'm about tackle King 2.5 front coilover install in the driveway so wanted to get first hand experience as to "best practice" It seems Icon, King, and Fox all have different methods in their respective install guides...

    Here the conflicting methods...

King - Straight forward... Remove 3 top bolts, sway bar ends, bottom shock bolt...install. (There is no mention of loosening and removing upper ball joint (ICON METHOD)...or removing the lower control arm bolts and loosening the CAM bolts (FOX METHOD)

I could probably figure it out but wanted to get some real world experience as to save time.

    Any help appreciated!

I’m a 2nd gen but I remove the tie rod to get mine in. Otherwise it’s very simple

This seems to be the lesser of the two evils if I had to choose one?!? Being a 2018 it will probably seperate with a couple of good whacks with a hammer.

My brother and I just installed a set of icon co’s and jba UCAs a week or so ago on his 2017 and it was very easy. The LCA was easy enough to push down by hand to get the longer coilover in.

So you got enough droop to get the coilover in there without loosening the cams and removing the bolts on the LCA? Please say YES!!!

You can just loosen the two 19mm bolts half way
