That’s a fallacy. At least in so cal. It’s over 330 for the 2018 grill and garnish OEM.

The 2016-2017 is 499 in Los Angeles and high desert. They won’t sell just the grille insert down here.

I see what you’re saying. From the looks of it, the OEM grill does come with the honeycomb attachment because no one has mentioned a separate part number for it. If there is a separate part number for something, you better believe it has it’s own price as in the garnish. Whether you buy OEM or not, what I’m saying is you won’t be getting a hole in the middle, you won’t be getting the glassy garnish either. They will all have the honeycomb. No one had mentioned buying a grill and ending up with a missing piece or hole. Reason being the pro grill for 16-17 didn’t have a sensor so the grill is one part number that doesn’t need the garnish part. However I do believe Toyota designed them future proof knowing they were going to add this feature on subsequent years which is why that piece is removable on 16-18 grills, based on your year, determines if you take it further or not.

But that’s for a 2018 because they know you will require the garnish for your sensor. So finally someone validated it thank you. However, 16-17 OEM or not won’t come with a hole. The 2018 grill has a 2 parts to be able to complete it. Bottom line, if you don’t have an ‘18, don’t buy an 18 pro grill. The Chinese ones don’t come with holes regardless of year you’re buying it for.

False, my Chinese grille has a removable honeycomb panel. I’ll take a pic tomorrow. It’s the two piece.

What’s false about my statement? I said the same thing as you. Except keep in mind if we’re talking Chinese or OEM when you re-read it.

Agreed...but because there’s people who haven’t done it yet chiming like they know what they’re talking about but ending up confusing others. (Not you). Thanks for the feedback though sir!

When things (topics) get all twisted... Is when you start seeing duplicate threads about the same thing....this is simple 1-take a picture of your grill 2-provide info about price and where did you bought it from. 3-open a beer and enjoy....

    Ok let me summarize here:

2016-2017 OEM or Chinese - comes complete, no holes, honeycomb all the way through, no need to purchase anything extra. You’re done. Put it on.

2018 OEM - comes with a hole that needs to be filled with another separate paid for part called the “radiator garnish”

2016 - 2018 Chinese - comes complete, no hole, honeycomb all the way through, but if you PLAN on using it on an ‘18, you will need to unscrew/remove the honeycomb door, and order a “radiator garnish” from the dealer to protect your sensor.

    - Note (this is from my personal experience) not all of the Chinese grills are made the same, if it doesn’t have slits in the back for the garnish tabs, you won’t be able to put the garnish on. I’ve seen this on the Chinese grill that has the whole “Toyota” as an insert and FOUR silver screws holding that honeycomb trap door in. The Chinese grill that worked for me (from bruceshark) had the individual letters, and the honeycomb trap door where there were 2 screws and the the other 2 places were “melted on”. This grill will work for 2018.

    - note that the Chinese grills were modeled after Toyota 2016-2018, which means Toyota knew they were going to add a sensor in 2018 and future proofed it. However, not all Chinese grills were made the same based on my note above. Some of you will find out the hard way, I’m just trying to save you time and money because I ended up with 2 grills because of this, could’ve bought the OEM at that point. My costs are your savings. Just trying to help.

Was stating the two piece Chinese grille I have has the removable honeycomb panel insert yet it’s removable.
