thats awesome. i dont know if I like the OP's better or the 2nd guy who posted his pics. For the second one, you have to have the platform clear of stuff so that you can lift it just to get to the safe. the first guys platform looks flexible enough that you can slide your hand under it or only need half of it clear for access.

 

I agree that the carpet idea is really good, I may go this route since I have a plywood for now and I always have to fold the front seats to lift it ti access the storage bins, and I always have stuff back there, which means move all stuff, fold the seats, lift the plywood and grab a zip tie lol

 

so you don't like the plywood? I have a few toolbags and heavy stuff. that why I would consider the plywood. i guess they wouldnt hurt those dewalt boxes though if I only laid some thicker carpet down.

 

In my case the plywood is not the best, but still debating whats better for the dog too... plywood is straight and solid for the dog but takes longer to grab something from under, carpet is the opposite lol
