Seems like early August before my little boy goes back to school. Will be a week long road trip for me-- to Moab and everything in between.

Set the dates, I am very interested. Utah has some awesome overland trails as well.

Y'all should bear in mind that, despite the lack of snow this winter, there's trails that might not be open in mid July.

Also, the Wild Bunch 4x4 Club out of Montrose hosts their Black Bear Backwards run, typically at the beginning of August. My wife and I are planning to take her truck up there around that time, so I'm hoping to be able to do the backwards run.

Only trail in the area I wouldn't recommend, unless you're mildly built, would be Poughkeepsie Gulch. I doubt The Wall would be climbable without at least one locker (you can always run it up to The Wall, try it, and turn around, if need be). Everything else, including Black Bear, is doable in stock trucks.

It's been a while since I have updated this post. Due to my 81year old father-in-law deciding he wants "1 more family vacation" we have postponed our week long Colorado trip for a year. Going to have to settle for a couple of extended weekend trips for my over landing fix this summer.
It's hard to tell an 81 year old man, no I'm not going to spend time with you.
Hopefully some of the connections that were made on here can still get together and have a blast.

Yeah I've been around when he and his brother start taking. Most of the good stories won't/can't be told around their wives.

When are your boys going to be around? For one of our weekend trips we have been talking about going back to Arkansas. I'm pretty sure @riz_atx would be interested if we can put it together. Probably something like leave Friday come back Monday like we did a couple months back.
