Round 2 March 24 Tennessee Dirt Devil

Guess it rained more than I thought overnight and sometimes you do dumb things when you are bored.

 

My only prior trip through Dirt Devil was at the end of a 2 month drought. Some of the water crossings were a little deeper than others, but nothing too bad. I was wondering how it would have been in a hard rain during "wet season".

 

As they say on the news:
Turn around don't drown
My recommendation - stay home

 

Wait, is the Dirt Devil public? Like can I go and drive it whenever?

We rescued these folks on my first trip there.

 

Oh. I guess I never realized that lol. Is there an official starting location?

 

It's just a bunch of backroads in rural Tennessee.

 

The Dirt Devil track we follow is public, but there are a lot of roads in the area that are private. So you have to beware of the no trespassing signs and not go down a road marked private.

 

I have a couple days coming up where I could do this if we started early enough... 3/18, 3/24, 3/29, 3/30. I don't have the maps yet but I'm willing to get them.

 

I know there's some of us going on the LBL Trip next weekend. Myself included

 

Too stock to do anything. The last thing I need is to bang up something that's not even paid off.

 

There’s easy trails... I did them in college in a stock Tacoma all the time...

 

Ok, it's short notice but looks like we could do something on March 24th. Anyone that has shown interest lately or can come please let me know. @mwall931, @jgill21. We can meet at our normal area which is the Shell station at leapers fork 4348 old Hillsboro rd at 8-8:30 Leave by 9. Bout 6-7 hours round trip. Post up who ever can go and I'll make a list. Thanks

Keep me on the short list. That's close to when we leave for Moab, but Dirt Devil is easy enough that there's minimal chance of doing any damage to the truck...Only issue would be start time. May need another 1/2 hour to hour to make it. I'll see what I can do. Loved the trip on the previous run!

 

That's my weekend to work, so I can't make it.

 

That sounds good to me. I'll be coming from work so I'll just rest up in the truck before.

I'm a maybe. There's a lot on my plate at home including I have a joint renovation project with my neighbor that's tentatively scheduled for the next dry Saturday. I'll just have to see how things turn out.
