Toyota just launched warranty on SAIS failure for 2012 Tacoma. Mine failed this Monday. Talk about good timing.

Nice, bout damn time. I don’t have a ‘12 v6 but definitely feel for the fellas having problems since there’s not much you can do but shell out the dollaz.

My ‘13 4 cylinder gets pending codes sometimes when my scanguage is hooked up, had a cel one time, I cleared it and leave the sg unplugged and haven’t had any trouble since. It’s got to be the most annoying system in the trucks by far.

I hope that’s right about the 2012 Tacoma 4.0. I threw P2440 & P2442 code. What a way to learn about limp mode. 1/2 power, Christmas lights on, crazy drive home with a OBD 2 reader.

Secondary Air Injection System Bypass Kit
So I pulled up the T-SB-0033-17 which is the only service bulletin I can find for the secondary air injection system on a 2012 Tacoma. It was issued On 12/12/17 and covers P244/P2442 with a full system replacement.
The problem is the Applicable Warranty section says the warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36k miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
Reading that it sounds like the warranty would not cover anyone. Maybe there was an older TSB but they usually have them listed as Obsolete if they update it and reference it in the new service bulletin.

Still not getting subscribed forum thread updates even though all my preferences to do so are correct. So if anyone has any questions or there are ever and post asking for a response from me and I don't in a short period of time please email us directly support@hewitt-tech.com

*Edit The TSB I found was just for the normal new car warranty that covered the system foo three years, not sure why it was dated 12/17 other than maybe fixing typos. Digging a little more I found a Customer Support Program ZHA that covers certain Tacomas in the production period of Late August 2011 to Early August 2012 until /2/28/2019 with no year or mileage limitations. If you are covered you would receive a warranty notice.

Subd for the full delete kit 13+. I’d love to make my Toyota as bullit proof as what they used to be, what they built their name on and how it’s supposed to be.

2012 53k miles. Truck is at the dealership for P2442 code right now. The OP says the replacement SAIS parts are improved. Can anyone confirm that? If it's just going to keep failing over and over I'd be interested in the bypass kit.

@hewitt-tech Any update on progress for the 2013-2015 complete air-injection delete kit you spoke of developing last year?

Well, knock on wood, I've got 134,000 miles on my 2014 Tacoma and haven't had any problems from it yet. Someone local has a set of 2005-11 headers with URD y-pipe for sale and I was thinking of getting them...which would mean deleting the air injection

    I just purchased a 2015 Tacoma.

Is there a secondary air valve delete for the 2015 Tacoma yet??

    About halfway done...
I gave Hewitt Tech a call last week asking about a full delete kit for a 2013 Tacoma. Sounds like they are working on it but its at least 6 months out. I did get on some kind of email list. Figure the more interest they see the more motivated they are to create a prototype.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I emailed them and Becky said she put me on the list, they’ll notify via email when a kit is ready.

Bed rug, ARE bed top, Weathertechs. Little goodies here and there!
I believe they changed the design on 2013 up so that helps give some releif if you're worried. Still, I'd love to the delete to be safe since it's a costly fix

I thought that too. Until I bought a 2015 Pro, it failed two weeks after I bought it, replaced under warranty, failed again last week, so if it’s replaced under warranty, I’m on my third set. Doesn’t give me much comfort.
