Here's a white V1500 Suburban Silverado for ya...

To the layperson, R designates 2WD and V designates 4x4. GM did this to differentiate between the square-body trucks and SUVs and the new-for-1988 GMT400 trucks until the new Suburbans, Blazers, and Yukons were released in 1992...

Here's a nice white base model 1988 K5 I spotted in SoCal almost two years ago...

    @Iamraiderpower

And here is one of my personal favorites! I first spotted this truck at a body shop while driving around one Sunday in October 2012 and stopped to take pictures...

About two and a half years later I found this red truck, a 1986 Chevrolet K20 Scottsdale stepside (very rare) on Fleabay. The seller mentioned that he'd inherited the truck from his late uncle, who was the original owner. He didn't want to sell it, but he needed the money and he already had a Dodge pickup with a lot of money invested in it...

Remember that black and gold Dodge 150 short bed 4x4 I showed you and @Jamesboy2233 pictures of? Same truck! There was a phone number, so I sent the guy a text message. We chatted for a bit, and he ended up bring the truck to a cruise night (with his girlfriend driving his old 1950s Chevy truck) so I could take pictures...

Scottsdale was the mid-level trim (with Custom Deluxe being the base/standard trim and Silverado being the top trim). This truck was special-ordered from Lafferty Chevrolet in Warminster, Pennsylvania. My dad bought a new S-10 Blazer at Lafferty in June 1993, and the dealership is still in business in the same location!

This truck was ordered without air-conditioning and has very few options, but the original owner chose his options wisely; These options include intermittent wipers, AM/FM stereo cassette, and the G80 locking rear differential. This truck has a 5.7L V8 under the hood, mated to the factory 4-speed manual "Granny Tranny."

    October 21st, 2012:

    Doylestown, Pennsylvania

The late uncle was still alive and thus still owned this truck when I took this picture...

You can see the owner's other truck (the 1950s Chevy; blue) in the background...

Will the new HU read thumb drives? That should do the trick. Just transfer all your tunes over to a thumb drive or 2 and do everything from the head unit.

I tried that. It did read it, but it doesn't organize them by artist like my iPod does. It just puts them all in one long-ass list under their MP4 file names...

I know with some units the file system matters. IIRC FAT32 seems to be the most compatible.

I could get a decent head unit for the same price, without navigation. Having navigation on a large screen in the dash is the primary reason I'm keeping the Boss. The sound quality with the AUX cord is actually pretty damn good, but it would be nice to see my music on the the screen...

I just want a system like my Sony had where it automatically reads everything!

I hear ya. I'm eyeballing the XAV AX200 myself...one of the only double DIN units with a volume knob.

The Kenwood GPS is nice, but it's $600...

Most of them are OVER $600, and quite a few require external navigation modules that will not fit in my dash...

I will NEVER buy another Sony XAV...

Dropped is cool, but I can't stand those gold Dayton wire wheels on a perfectly good '64 Impala...
