Hey guys! I just finished the turn signal mod on my 2002 tacoma. i know this is an old subject but i had to post about it. when i pulled my truck into my garage when i was rebuilding it, i left it in gear and hit the clutch start cancel... yup.. smashes my marker lights and a turn signal. :angrygirl:
I was just going to replace all the parts but didnt like that idea. i want my truck to be different from every one. i went on Amazon and ordered new marker light housing, 2 1157 led switchback with projecter bulbs, and 1157 universal sockets.. i was scared to drill out my new housings so i used an old one first. here is pics of what you need and what to do! everything is off amazon for less than 50 bucks with shipping! {you need to cut front bumper turn signal wires and run them up to marker light location for this to work!!} attach both white wires together (ground), one green is turn and other is marker. in the pictures the white light is marker and amber is turn. its 2 colors on 1 bulb (for those who dont know)

check your local laws but I believe you are correct to be able to use white or amber front facing bulbs. I can on the motorcycle at least but not sure if it's different for cars/trucks

Where I am, we must have an amber turn signal flashing. Can't have blue, white, green...ect. but nothing saying we can't have white running ligjts. I put these in our tow trucks and recently got pulled over by DMV for inspection, he was about to write me up until he saw them switch to amber as turn signal and his jaw dropped! He had never seen them before

Got damn, that is a nice lookin ride!

After trying and failing to repaint my faded fender flares with crappy paint and no skill, I took them to a local shop that offered to do them for cheap. They did too good of a job - gave them a high gloss finish that just looks weird in black and bothers me every day. But man, now I wish I'd have done the same in white. Yours just look great!

Have any pics of how you mounted the pods to the backside of your bumper? Also do you have any pics at night showing how bright they are? I was just looking at pods the other day thinking about doing exactly what you have. Currently I have switchback leds in the turn housings and kinda disappointed in the light output.
