LCE is having a 10% off sale today only. I'm debating on whether I should pull the trigger on their header. Even with 10% off, its still pricey at $405+$38 shipping, so those of you that have it on the 2.7, is it worth it? Obviously looking for a power increase, but any kind of mpg increase would somewhat help justify it....(yes, I know I wouldn't ever see that money back in fuel savings)

Pretty sure @moe2o4 will say yes... if I wasn’t in the middle of a bunch of house projects I might jump on this.

I don't have them but according to what I have read it seems like it makes a great difference power wise... can't tell about mpg but imo if the truck work less to keeps its speed then you'll save on gas...

    you leavin the tacoma community?

10% is not enough to worth shipping it here lol

Just an ongoing joke between David and I.

But, to OP, if you really want the headers, then doing it while there is a 10% off sale is worth it. I do not have them but have been looking for a used set, and they are rare, and sell quickly when they come up. The used sets usually sell for around $300, IIRC. Sorry if this isn't much help. There are a lot of reviews on here, though, and most of them seem to be positive. The consensus is that it is the best mod for more power on the 4 cyl.

Is the stock header really a restriction?

Yes, it makes a noticeable difference. Increases the drive-ability of the truck. The truck starts off in 1st easier, accelerates faster, and will hold fifth gear easier.

I would love to buy this, but my fears are that it would cause random engine codes, decrease engines longevity, require other upgrades to work.. etc

I installed mine almost 3 years ago, noticable power gain and no issues whatsoever. Like someone said above, this is widely considered to be the best power upgrade for the 2.7 (besides a $5000 supercharger)

I can tell no difference with 6 months of driving with my LCE header (stock exhaust), but I enjoyed installing it and I enjoy looking at it when I pop the hood.

    Yes

Literally none of those things are an issue at all.

Seems like they do it a couple times a year.

You seem to be the exception on this one. I've experienced a noticeable increase in low end torque, holds a gear better climbing hills, and a slight increase in mpg.
