Lot's of talk on the 3rd generation automatic transmissions... I found that driving the car with a heavier foot on the gas the transmission performs much better. Anyone know when the adaptive learning stops?

Someone on the forum posted "drive the truck, don't let it drive you", good advice.

    Thanks!

Pretty quick usually within first 250-500 miles. If it’s already learned, reset the KAM and go beat the shit out of it

Sorry, what is the KAM? I have been driving it more aggressively and like it! I have a little over 600 miles on it.

Is re-setting the KAM a dealer thing or a DIY?

It’s just a reset of the short term memory. Just unhook the battery over night one night, put it back on then drive like hell for a good while and continue to give it the beans for a few drive cycles and it will relearn you. You need Techstream to completely clear the long term memory if I recall correctly.
