If you can afford them, then these are fantastic tires. I've had a few sets over the years and they are amazing for light offroad and stick like velcro on road wet or dry. But man are they proud of them!

That means most driving is done on the hiway, but also driving offroad also,do you really think all the offroader fanboys here spend most of their time offroad in their truck,B.S,they like everyone else are on paved roads for daily life like going too work 5 days a week.

My Duratracs are cupping pretty bad, but its probably more the 5100's loading up the spring, with the addition of the bumper and winch. Not sure. Multiple alignments and road force balance didnt help. All suspension components in good shape. When these wear out, i will do a proper springs and shock, but will probably go with a different tire. When i was getting them balanced, there was another guy in there with a 2500 super duty with the same tire (higher load rated), doing the exact same thing. His truck was new, stock height. So i dont know.

Anyone had luck with Terra Grapplers? Still want something semi-aggressive, but i am driving over 80 miles a day.

Cupping is alignment or tire pressure. You might need more air, or maybe a heavier tire. I haven't experienced cupping on my Tacoma with load E tires at 40 psi. I'm on my 3rd set. Just switched from Toyo M55s to Dean Backcountry MT.

Done several alignments and balances, including road force. Checked all suspension components. A regarded suspension guy, said that loading up the springs with the 5100's, with the addition of the added weight of the tire, bumper, and winch are probably the cause. I have also tried mult air pressures, including chalk test. I'll just live with it until they wear out, at this point.

Dont know what to think, but what he says does make sense. Will only know once i get a proper spring and shock in there and new tires. I can attest that the ride is much harsher, after loading all that up on the front end, with factory springs loaded up.

I may give the Toyo's a try, if you have had good luck with those. My build was not entirely different from what yours was at one point. I even have firestone bags in the back, as well.

They make duratrac's in SL too, which would probably be better suited for OP's truck.

you dont have to take everything so literally. What i meant by this is there's a large contigent of drivers who drive highway most of the time and only want aggressive tires for looks. If its for looks, get over it. If you actually need aggressive tires then go for it.

i indeed ended up going to Discount Tire. Got a set of Michelin Defenders. Thankfully I scheduled an appointment so I was in and out within an hour, and got the $100 rebate. Always a good experience at Discount Tire.

Keep them inflated, rotated and balanced. They will be good for at least the advertised miles. Happy travels.

Liked the way this thread ran, lots of experience shared to the poster who received lots of opinions and advice. First time I ever saw a vendor step in, but all he shared was information.

Good job Tacoworld. That's why I stay on this forum.

Black this black that , 315-75r16 pro-comp A/T's , 285-75-r-16 treadwright gaurd dogs full OME lift with Dakar leaf spring pack, boss airbags, 4.88 nitro gears, dakota digital speedometer calibrator, tjm air locker, arb onboard air, spider tracks 1.25" wheel spacer, sport headlights, brute force fab hybrid front bumper, 6000k 4" led fog lights, 24" double row led reverse light, storm trooper shift knob, rebadged badg-less black mesh grill, Kenwood double din stereo, 400w Rockford 12” sub . Anytime fog lights. Oh yeah almost forgot the 2016 FourWheel camper fleet model for extra traction and a place to crash if you do get stuck or broke down. 2x160watt solar, mppt charge controller by blue sky energy. 3 deep cycle batteries 20gallons water, 6gal hot water, 3.5cf 2way fridge/freezer, 6gallon propane... just getting warmed up.
I just picked up a set of Treadwright gaurd dogs and have been super happy with them. 4000 miles so far and wear is nice and even, considering my load and driving that’s great. For the price of $600 compared to my Toyo M-55’s at $1500 I wouldn’t hesitate again. They look cooler then the m-55 imo.
